for a bungalow at WDW Polynesian Resort? Have any of you ever stayed there, or are these just for the super rich and famous? This would be ideal for my first trip to WDW next June if my extended family come. But our maximum budget is NO where near the cost.

That is what I was thinking. Whoever can afford a bungalow has to be rich ! That is an outrageous price.

My co-worker and his extended family got 2 rooms at the Polynesian. When they got there, there was construction just outside their room and they went to complain to the CM. The CM looked for available rooms, then asked if they wanted to look at the Suite on Concierge level. They liked what they saw, and got upgraded for free, taking the 2 room reservations and merging them into one. Co-worker said it was the best they had been treated ever at WDW. Also like the free beer that he was privy to.

We've stayed in them
twice now, non-DVC cash reservations. It can be just as expensive for a suite at any of the other deluxe resorts, so it's expensive but not really any more expensive than a two-bedroom at GF.

How many people does that rate cover?

I believe the bungalow officially sleeps 8 adults, but there's only two actual beds: 1 king and 1 queen. There's a pullout in the living room and Murphy beds. I'd never put 8 adults in there! It works well for our family of 5 (sometimes 6) though, because our kids are small.

Thank you, that is very helpful!

I have a friend who has stayed in the bungalows a few times, but she works in the industry and was comped. She threw a little gathering in the bungalow one night, so I had a chance to go inside, have dinner and enjoy the fireworks. I think they are beautifully done, but, yes, very, very expensive and never discounted. We stayed in a two-bedroom cottage at the Four Seasons Nevis with a much bigger pool and a yard for about a 1/3 of the price, but, of course it wasn't in the middle of WDW (if that's where you want to vacation!). If you have the money, sure, go for it! However, we've also stayed in 2-bedroom villas at BWV and BCV for a fraction of the price and were very, very happy with the rooms.

There's just no way I'd pay $2400+/nt. to sleep over a swamp :crazy2:. Hell, last summer we were offered to be moved to one of the bungalows and keep CL access after our disastrous CL stay at the Poly and we all declined! I know it appeals to some folks and that's great but it's definitely no Bora Bora so in the budget or not, I would never pay that type of money for them.
