We are traveling the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to the World and I found flights for 169.30 roundtrip from Dulles to MCO. I have never traveled this time of year and am not sure if this is good or not. I am in the same boat as everyone else and afraid SW will come up with an excllent 49.00 each way and then I will be so mad. That is what happened when we went in September. I looked and all of the flights are filling up and I guess I need to make a decision. Is there somewhere else I should also check. No one really has there schedule out very far yet. Any help would be appreciated
Thanks
Michele

No crystal ball here, but I would jump on that fare!

Go for it! I am looking at the $400 range for DTW-MCO 11/17-11/23.

I booked that fare for our late October trip. Got my perfect times 8:30AM to MCO and 6:30PM home. One of the great perks about flying UniTED is that it participates in airline checkin for the return flight. SW does not. So dropping off my luggage to the front of the resort is high on my list. Plus having assigned seating is a good thing too. Don't forget Jetblue starts flying non-stop our of Dulles in May, so you might want to watch their fares too.

That is the SINGLE busiest travel day in the US. SW is probably NOT likely to give you a great Ding for that day when they know they can sell the ticket at full fare.

I think that's a great rate for that day, I would jump on it before it's gone!

Just checked and they have already went up to 183.30 since last night at 11:00
I am scared now!

ShellyL, if that is R/T I would go ahead and book it. Unless the economy goes into the dumpster, I don't think you're going to get much better than that for a Thanksgiving trip.

Anything under $200 is a great deal for that time of year. Grab it!

That "was" an excellent fare for Thanksgiving. I would have booked that the second I saw it. Sometimes waiting for SWA can be a pain and labor intensive and they probably won't get any better than $79 each way.

I live in the DC area and am looking at fares for October and getting the same as you - $169. Considering that is the day before Thanksgiving I'd jump on it.

I'll add that I don't pay attention to Dings from SW cause of my son's peanut allergy we won't fly SWA. Also I've found that http://www.kayak.com is a good place to search for low airfares. I use the WAS code for all DC area airports to get the best fare.
