Good fare from West Coast

Just booked our flight from Seattle to Orlando for December. I have been checking fares every day to get the same flight as DD's frequent flyer ticket. Americans web site showed a fare today of $335.00 and when I checked the same flight on Expedia it was $245.00. This is the best it's been so far so booked it!

I did call American and tell them I had this fare on the Expedia web site and would they match it. They politely declined.

Maybe fares will be lower as December gets closer, but I'm happy with $245.00!

Good job :D I find it so hard to find a good rate from here. If you dont buy at the right time the prices are way too high!!! Im waiting for the direct Alaska flight to come down for November, if it doesnt come down soon Im going to have to book American. We flew American last year and they changed our flights times so many times before we left I finally called them (booked thru Expedia) and had them connect our tickets with my Dads tickets so when they changed the flight they always changed us together!! Have fun!!

It's hard to find a good fare from out West. We have 6 travelling in our party and we were finally able to book for $1449.00 for all of us thru Continental. Within three days of booking, that same flight went up by $300.00.

That's what we paid for our flight in October from SEA to MCO. I am happy with it. I've seen it lower, but with the reduced flights, I am afraid it will go back up and I like to have everything set. We have paid a lot more in the past. We are also flying american airlines.

Have a great time!

I travel to Orlando about twice and year I've been using Southwest Airlines the past couple years and haven't paid over $224 a ticket (RT Portland to Orlando, includes all the taxes).

I get their e-mail update and check for the $99 each way deals and then book them directly from Southwest website.

Another way I save air $: I signed up for Southwest Rapid Rewards program to earn credit toward free flights. As part of this program I signed up for Southwest Visa card and have been charging all my normal monthly expenses - groceries, utilities etc. (I make sure to pay off the entire balance each month). I have already earned two free tickets through Rapid Rewards in the last eight months. So that's another way to save on airfare.

One other nice thing about Southwest (at least from Portland) they have at least one flight to and from Orlando where you don't have change planes (although they make a stop). You might want to check their website www.southwestairlines.com.
