My plan is to go yearly from Sept - Nov.
I think the deal is decent.

I don’t love the UY for you, I would have picked August for sure. We travel Sept-January for the bulk of our trips and we chose August for our UY for the bulk of our points. We do have a small Feb UY contract, but we only use those points for a sometimes May trip.

I think you got a great deal. I see so many contracts that are stripped paying more than this. Without a doubt, you will find contracts for less. A year ago, a unicorn contract at $75 SSR came across loaded. Those are rare. At the end of the day, you are fine with SSR and it shows by agreeing to the purchase.
Look at it this way, Even if you were able to get it for $84 a point, you are talking about a difference of $550. Such a small amount for a large purchase. The sooner you secure DVC, the sooner you can start using it and making your first reservation. Congratulations. (Note: Three to four years ago, the price was above $100 for SSR and climbing when revenge travel was happening. I think it is going to ebb and flow between $80 and $100 based on supply and demand going forward because of the high DVC direction pricing.)

Hello,

I just started the process of buying my first DVC contract and needless to say I'm nervours about messing up with such a financial decision. I did some research and managed to negotiate the following resale contract:

Saratoga Springs Resort (SSR) for 200 points.
February Use Year
285 points for 2025
200 points for 2026
$17,350 (or $86.75) + 1,700 dues +750 closing for total out the door of $19,800.

I'm still within the 10 day window to cancel. What do you think? Should I keep it or look for something better?

Thanks for your feedback!
Solid price. SSR points were running $125+ just a few short years ago.

I find it interesting that SSR is still viewed as the resort of last resort... the refurb really corrected a lot of problems, and for a lot of folks - particularly those without kids, SSR is in many ways ideal for a long Disney vacation...

My heart is still with Old Key West and Grand Floridian (and to a lesser extent the Boardwalk Inn & Villas), but don't forget there is a lot of appeal to Saratoga Springs....

Agree. The rooms at SSR are much nicer than some of the other more popular resorts. I always try and get a few nights there every stay so I can easily do all the DS restaurants.

I think it is because it’s not near a park and it doesn’t have the theming of AKV.

That’s why it’s not our choice when we are doing parks. Staying there in June for three nights because this is a non park girls trip.

I think its a solid number. Most people seem to be trying to get around $90 and the last time I ran some of the prices on SSR the $86 would have been better than the average and if you can use those additional points before they expire all the better. I wouldnt see any reason to back out of the deal at all.
