Watch the location of your MGM counter service!!! We got burned by a number of counter service places claiming to be open for dinner (like Backlot Express), and yet they shut down at 5pm when we were there! Yes, we checked the daily guide, and the guide even said they were open for dinner. Since when did *dinner* END before 5pm???? 
In the end, it turned out that EVERY CS restaurant that we tried to eat in over by LMA (three of them) were all closed by 5:30pm. The only place we could get food was in the crowded outdoor "food court" sort of area over across from Fantasmic.
BTW, this was during the first full week of June -- a crowded time, and one when you would expect restaurants to be open. We really couldn't understand why Disney wouldn't let us spend money on their overpriced food.
It's funny now, but it sure wasn't then.
