good counter meals in World showcase?

good counter meals in World showcase?

Pretty darn slim pickings, imho. I don't think either bakery serves enough variety to satisfy all families. Everything I've ever had from Tangierine Cafe has been terribly dry. The fish and chips work for folks who happen to like fish and chips, I suppose. For us, the only place that's been reliably good has been the CS at Mexico, La Cantina de San Angel, though I'm not sure what its like since La Hacienda de San Angel opened.

I highly recommend walking the extra ten minutes and having your CS meal at Sunshine Seasons in Future World.

I agree with bicker above about the Tangeriene Cafe. If it is a slow day, the shaved meats that they have will sit around and get dry. It's best to go to TC on a busy day. They will be more likely to shave the meat in front of you.

• Fi & Chi Stand (aka Yorkshire County Fish Shop) in UK...I've heard that one can also order a small order of chips as a Snack Option!.....but the fish & chips (fee & chee) are pretty good, and they do have malt vinegar packages!
• Tangierine Cafe in Morocco My cousin had always bypassed it, but on our trip last year, I shared 1/2 my Schwarma platter with her, and on her trip this year, she & her hubbie both totally enjoyed their lunch there. And the pink lemonade was quite refreshing!
  (I enjoyed it more than my meal at the Marakkesh restaurant in Morocco)
  
• I wasn't thrilled with Cantina de San Angel in Mexico, it was what I'd expect to get at a mall takeout, and the Churro was like cinnamon cardboard... I should have brought it back and asked if there weren't any fresh ones, but I had already caused waves by insisting on having a combo plated up without refried beans! Apparently that had to get approved by a manager!
  But I did thoroughly enjoy all that melted cheese!

we like the club sandwich at norway bakery -- very fresh
also like yakitori in japan -
several of my family members enjoy the brats at germany
have fun trying new things!

Tangerine Cafe is great. Very solid veggie platter. The Norway cafe also has good sandwiches.

China and US are both run of the mill food, nothing special at all. My wife was pleased with Japan last trip, but I strongly recommend Morocco or Norway. Norway can have very long lines due to the popularity for their baked goods like school bread.

Sunshine Seasons without a doubt has the biggest selection of food in Epcot, so it's your choice if your family might have trouble agreeing on something.

I personally enjoy all of the counter service restaurants in World Showcase (some more than others) except Liberty Inn (I haven't had a CS hamburger in the World that I've enjoyed in a long time) and Lotus Blossom (ate there last trip, it was better than I was expecting but still kind of run-of-the-mill).

Ended up sick from eating the CS mexican and when we tried the seasons -we couldn't find a table...I'm planning on either not eating cs there this time or maybe we'll give the Tangierine or bakerys a try. Bummer when there are good TS, do you think it's on purpose? lol

Big factor in choosing the deluxe plan for us, I think it's more valuable if you really like Epcot and are there when it is very busy...

I have to agree that Morrocco's CS is wonderful, but large servings. I usually don't finish mine!

It has never been dry and is a must do for us.

We also like the fish and chips, Kringla, the French bakery and another favorite is a brat with sauerkraut and apple strudel for dessert.

On our last night, it's not unusual for us to order just one at each place and share amongst the whole family eating our way around the world (instead of dinner)

Ditto! Their Vegetarian Platter is a great combo/sampling of many of their items - and big enough to share between 2 people if you're looking for a light lunch.
