I am a cheese fiend and would love to hear about places that have a good cheese plate. I'd love to find a place that serves one for lunch too. Thanks!

Chefs de France has one. I had it as an appetizer in 2005 and to be honest I can't remember exactly what was on it:confused3 But I really enjoyed and had no trouble eating it:)

The one at the Rose and Crown is very good.

Jiko and Le Cellier both have cheese plates.

Jiko's cheese plate is amazing and I *think* is actually considered an entree! Le Cellier is very, very good too. Check out the menus at allearsnet for more info.

I was not impressed with the Chefs de France cheese plate; it was literally two large-ish wedges of cheese I could get at the grocery store and some parsley. I don't know if they ran out of other cheeses or what but for a French restaurant, I was disappointed. No toppings, no bread or crackers, just two cheeses.

California Grill's cheese plate is outstanding -- best on property in our opinion (better than V&A). Chefs de France's cheese plate is uninteresting with no unique cheeses. Jiko's is quite good but not as good as CG. We haven't had Narcoosee's cheese plate.

I really enjoyed the cheese plate at Yachtsman's Steakhouse. A great variety, and I love the stuff that comes with it (like honeycomb and raisins on the vine!). Yum :)

We recently ate at CP for dinner and I was surprised to see that on the dessert buffet they had a selection of cheeses (about 3 or 4).

Did not like my cheese plate appy at Flying Fish. The extras were good (honeycomb and raisins on the vine, like YS) but the cheeses were very strong IMO.

The cheese plate at the California Grill is probably my favorite dish ever, anywhere. It is luxurious. (I guess you can tell I really liked it!)

My DH still talks about the cheese plate from Rose and Crown in January!! It was very good!

Give the cheese plate at Artist Pointe a try. We did about 2 years ago and it was quite yummy!

I'll second R&C. One little known one is (or at least was 9 months ago) on the menu of the Victoria Falls bar at AKL. It's a cheese and nut (candied walnuts, etc) plate and was yummy.

Saw several folks order one in the bar at AKL. It looked good...and literally about 5 tables had it.

Here's a picture of the cheese&fruit platter that I think everyone is refering to. I already told DH I am ordering it again this year DDP or not!!!! ;)

I forgot I had pictures!!

Here is the cheese plate from Artist's Point:

And here is the Cheese Plate from Rose and Crown (which is the same as the photo above, I think!):

I think the Flying Fish has a great cheese plate. And according to one of the bartenders at Outer Rim, the cheese plate that is listed on their appetizer menu is the same that you can get in California Grill. The Outer Rim opens at noon. I think the California Grill has a good cheese plate. Alas, I haven't tried it at the Outer Rim.
