I'm looking to get a new camera and I want something better quality than some of the point and shoot cameras, but not professional prices! I've been looking at the Sony Cyber-shot DSCH50 9.1 MP and the Canon Powershot SX10IS 10MP, they are both in the $300 range and seem to have good reviews.

Any suggestions?!?!? I took 1500 pics in 6 days at WDW last year and would have taken more if I could but my camera (older, cheaper canon) just didn't take the quality pics I want.

2 friends have the Canon sx110is and love it. I've played with them and they are very nice. I'm sure the newer model is just as good. I've never had a Sony so I can say on that one.

I'll put a plug in for the H-50 from Sony. I bought it last year the day it was released because I liked the previews for it. It takes nice pictures and has a good zoom. It also has an infra-red feature which is a little weird but fun to use. I use it mostly in the auto mode but it can be used in different modes.
Just to give you an idea this was taken in the Coral Reef zoomed in on the fish tank from the third tier of seating with no flash at 3200 ISO. It is a little noisy but gives an idea of the zoom capability.

You may want to look at the current crop of superzooms recently shown at PMA. All depends on what $$$ you are willing to spend and what your shooting needs are. What is good for one, is not for another. Do not listen to the folks who speculate, look at honest reviews.
