I have to agree with this! My son is always making fun of me for playing VMK. He thinks I spend way too much time playing such a stupid game. What's he doing while I'm playing VMK? He's busy playing Navy Field. He enjoys Navy Field so much, he earned money so he could buy virtual stuff in the game. When he makes fun of me, I just remind him that I have never spent my money on pixels.

I had a discussion about nerds with my best friend a couple of days ago. I was telling her about Triumph the Insult Comic Dog making fun of the nerds waiting in line to see Star Wars. She assumed the nerds would be insulted at being called a nerd and not want to be the target of Triumph's barbs. She had no understanding of nerd pride. I explained that real nerds know whe are superior to everyone else and take pride in being a nerd. We laugh at the stereotypes of nerds because we know, as cteddiesgirl said, when people are in trouble they come to a nerd for help.
