Hey, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a nerd. Nerds are far superior to the people who make fun of us. That's right, I said, "Us." I am a nerd and am very proud to be one! :cool1:

That said, I think it is good to maintain balance between real life and computer life. If you feel you are spending too much time playing VMK, then reduce your VMK time.

Perhaps you can make a schedule for your VMK time and follow the schedule. That would mean you couldn't allow yourself five more minutes to finish playing a game or ten extra minutes because VMK was down for ten minutes.

Another option would be to reward yourself with VMK time for doing other activities. For example, 15 minutes of VMK time for every hour you spend playing baseball with your friends.

In my opinion, developing the self-discipline to structure your VMK time will be more useful to you in the long term than just quitting VMK. Self-discipline is necessary in all aspects of life.

If you think you are having a major problem with VMK, I also suggest you read the literature from a 12-step program such as Alcoholics Anonymous. Take their alcoholism quiz but substitute VMK for alcohol. Answer the questions honestly and you will be able to determine how much of a problem VMK is for you. I'm not an alcoholic but I find the AA advice for staying sober is quite useful in other areas of my life. "Easy Does It" and "One Day at a Time" are very helpful when I'm overwhelmed with life.

Uh, i am a nerd and proud:)

I am a disney nerd, vmk nerd, computer nerd, chemistry nerd. I hang out in my chem II teacher's room every day, so does others. Now it has been crowned the senior lounge II, for people who doesn't have a life....

and i fit under that catagory. :thumbsup2

Dude, you are a nice guy. I hope you stay. Just cut back on your time. I recently did the same. No need to spend entire evenings trying to get into a host game. Just go on, have some fun, and then go so other things.
Hope to see you around.

I am a nerd, too! :cool1:

I'm a computer nerd, disney nerd, and a VMK nerd. I'm PROUD of it too!

I hate to see you go.

I totally agree with qruthie and Patchy.
And I say I'm a nerd. My interests? VMK (obviously), all things Disney (especially their movies), Musicals and Classic film, teddy bears, PBS, documentaries, History, basically anything in which I can learn something.

Just remember when you need help with many important things in your life, you usually turn to a "nerd". Computer IT guys, doctors, lawyers, your religious leader, etc. There is nothing wrong with being a "nerd".

If you feel that VMK is taking over your life, just step back for a little while and return to your other interests. Then come back to VMK occasionally. Balance is what life is all about. So balance VMK with the rest of your life. :)

you should be a nerd... you said you wanted money... bill gates = nerd = 8 digit figure

Plus bill gates never finished college...

NERD POWER! :teeth:
