Any advice on the good buffets vs. bad ones? I'd hate to get reservations and find out they all aren't that great.

I've never eaten at a "bad" buffet. Some of my favorites are Cape May Cafe (both breakfast and dinner), Chef Mickeys (a lot of fun but food is just ok), Crystal Palace (both breakfast and dinner), and Boma for dinner.

Good/Great!!!
Chef Mickey's breakfast
Crystal Palace--all
1900 Park Fare-breakfast is good/dinner is a "gourmet buffet"
I really like it...it also has kids stuff
Boma-dinner
Cape May character breakfast and clambake dinner

Not as good
Chef Mickey's dinner
Hollywood and Vine--buffet was okay, a little crowded....the characters took a long time to get around because they keep going up to dance

If is is not on here I did not eat there....or forgot about it!

I can't speak for the "bad" buffets (though I have HEARD that Hollywood and Vine has left something to be desired by some)

We ate ay Crytal Palace last week and I thought it was VERY good. Lots of variety and very fresh. Not just the typical buffet food either....I was pleasantly surprised.

We have eaten at a lot of WDW buffets, the only one that we didn't care for was Hollywood and Vine/Lunch. Neither my husdband or I liked it and we are not picky.

Crystal Palace Breakfast, 1900 Park Faire Dinner, Cape May Buffet Dinner are our favorites

Chef Mickeys...highly overrated.

I have heard good things about Trails End, but never tried it

We've eaten at every buffet, many, many times and there are some bad buffets:

Chef Mickeys - noisy, crowded, broken ice cream machines, dirty, subpar food and subpar service

Hollywood & Vine - subpar service and food, characters are ok

Boma - horrible service and very noisy, but food is very interesting and beautifully laid out

Princess Storybook Dining - grossly overpriced, yucky food, subpar service and very crowded

We are starting to phase out buffets this trip, as most of them have seriously gone downhill the last few years. That being said, here are our favs:

1900 Park Fare - breakfast or dinner is good food, nice atmosphere, good service and great characters

Cape May - good food, great characters and service

Donalds - vastly improved over old buffet: good food, great characters, fun parade and good service

Crystal Palace - great atmosphere, good food, great service and awesome characters

We have also done Garden Grove, and it's ok (service and characters were horrible), Trail's End was ok, but too crowded (food has since changed recently) and we like Maya Grill for a nice brunch buffet too.

HTH! Happy eating, Tiger :)

The Crystal Palace has the best breakfast and dinner buffets! The food is amazing plus you get to eat with Winnie the Pooh and Tigger. My second favorite buffet is 1900 Park Fare - dinner there is delicious and they have really good desserts!

Just goes to show you how different tastes are!!

We LOVE Boma and really don't enjoy Crystal Palace ;)

The worst buffet I've eaten was H&V, and it was good enough that I'll go back at some point. Hands down best buffet is Biergarten. Also loved Cape May Clambake, of course Donald's Safari Breakfast, and the family style all you can eat Liberty Tree Tavern. Crystal Palace was good but not great.

OK ... We have reservations for Hollywood & Vine.... Could you tell me what, Specifically you didn't like about it ? My husband is picky abut freshness and options of food on a buffet, so I would LOVE to be prepared....

Thanks Everyone....

The best for us:

Boma breakfast
Cape May breakfast and dinner
Crystal Palace breakfast and dinner
Beirgarten dinner

The worst for us:

H&V dinner
1900 PF breakfast or dinner
Chef Mickeys dinner
Boma dinner

Anyone ever try Shades of Green's buffet? I just read about it and I can't believe how reasonable the prices are. Just wondering how the food is.

My favorites are: Crystal Palace and Biergarten. DH likes Biergarten and Boma. He doesn't like normal everyday buffets, so to him The Biergarten and Boma not only had good food but they were different. I thought Boma was good, but I wasn't overly excited about the spices and flavorings. Debby

H and V is just not good food. Not many options and not what most would eat. It was crowded and the service wasn't good when we were there. The kids might enjoy the characters but we won't go back. We love 1900 Park Place for dinner and Chef Mickeys for breakfast best. I really can't say anything bad about any of the buffets though except H and V.

We went to crystal palace for the 1st time in November -it was also our first character meal- and we were pleasantly surprised with how good it was. We also went to Tusker house for lunch this month, and I was really impressed! It used to be our go-to CS place at AK before they switched, and they still have the yummy roasted chicken (among other things)!

I'd say my favorite buffet is Boma - I never miss it.

I also think Crystal Palace is very good (though I've only ever been for dinner)

I tried the Cape May Clambake once a few years back - I really enjoyed it but never went back (go figure!)

I went to Donald's Breakfastosaurus a few years back and thought it was horrible. However, I've seen positive reviews of the new location so I am planning on giving it another try.
