If VMK really wanted to do something. They could just back track his trades. If they did ban two characters, see who those characters traded with. Check IP's and if they are the same then ban those characters and just continue down the line. It's a long trail but it all smells like dog poop so it shouldn't be too hard to find.

Yes. It's not difficult. I can only take about 15 minutes to change mine. In fact, my IP has changed several times in the last few months. And not on purpose. (I also will not tell anyone how to do it).

But, simply checking out his IP may not be as simple as people seem to think. Just for this IP reason.

They may have at least a dozen or so IP address to check through. And then add in the difficulty of finding all of his characters.

He can change his IP, create a new character and start all over again with basically nothing. And we would probably never know it until our stuff was gone.

This is why they need to do something about the incredibly high values of stuff in VMK and they need to increase the trade windows.

We also need to inform ourselves and be careful while doing trades. Never ever let anyone pressure you into a trade. Especially a multi window trade. It's also best to never to a multi window trade. If you're wanting a very high value item, work from the bottom up.

Buy the weekend specials. Trade those for something of slightly higher value. Keep doing this until you can get to the next higher level of items. Keep trading up with items that can be obtained in only one trade window.

It takes a long time and a lot of patience. But, eventually, you will get to that prized item.

Yesterday Sweet and I got involved in 2 seperate situations. In dealing with the first we stumbled in to flip boys room, the low life you are talking about here.

First. A very close friend of ours had her account stolen. No it was not by flip boy that we know of but this person has the nerve to be in trade rooms with our friends character. Long story short. Sweet and I were sitting in message with our friend while we were following said friends "girl character" from trade room to trade room. Our friend has 2 stitch hats, sparrow and tons of other rare. Needless to say our friend was upset. I immediately went in Host fins room, pic this, kept accidently getting on her arg ride and screaming I NEED HELP PLZ I NEED YOUR HELP FIN. Again long story short, Fin did a report for me (thanks to Scooter) on this theft. In the meantime I was following my friends character, begging traders in the room, plz do not trade with this girl her account was stolen.

Well again sweet and I followed this character and ended up in FLIP BOYS room. We stood there several minutes observing his antics. We think we were in a room where he had a handfull of his clones one of which got temporarily on my friends list. So yes he is very much out there in vmk, still pulling his old tricks. Using many titles, yes very bold names, including guests.

I realize I cant post our friends title here. So we're trusting that vmk soon kicks it in gear and shuts down that person as well as flip boy.

In short. Be a smart trader. Never trade several windows without a leader or someone YOU trust. If a deal seems to good to be true, leave it at that. If your being pressured to trade fast, never make hasty decisions. Even if this trade person has a friend with them that says the deal is great. Trust me, they are the same person!! He is using several characters to pressure trade. Be smart and safe traders.

and she told me not to get a leader and that one of her friends was trustworthy and could replace a leader. I told her "no Leader no trade",
she traded me and said "Give me the stuff until my friend gets here" I ended trade and she left

Yes we have been trying to pass the word for ppl not to trade with her until she gets her account back. Shes having issues with getting the pass word changed. Thankfully that account was banned yesterday for 24 hrs but time is almost up.

The only thing I have to say about this is thank you for thinking. I was once scammed (last year Easter-ish) and eventually got my stuff back, but that was only with 2 helpful staff members and a lot of messages back and forth with 'the black hole'. I had lost a green tea cup...it was the worst moment of my vmk life.

I'm very sorry for all of those scammed, and a huge thank you to everyone, especially angus for "happening" to come into the room and "happening" to say he was a scammer. No wonder they picked you as a mod!

Remember, never EVER trade with someone you don't know if it's more than a trade-full, unless they give it on the first trade, without a CL that you know.

I know who y'all are talking about obviously, but could someone PM me the names of any new titles you've seen floating around? I don't trade much as it is, but I still like to be informed. That kid really needs to get a life and a conscience. And VMK needs to step up and ban his whole stinking computer and any other computers he uses. He may be "rich" in virtual life, but I somehow doubt he could afford to run out and buy a new CPU or laptop every time a banning comes down the pipe.

I agree with the de-valuizing (is that a word? LOL) lots of items. I think they should make the bigger trade window, but the part part of that could be that they would still want multi-window trades. I'm not sure how they would convince it, but i'm sure they would.

BAN THE COMPUTER! DO WHAT YOU CAN! For pete's sake VMK! Keep us safe! You need more staff members to work on only researching scams and reports!!

I guess I was never aware there were serial scammers in our midst and would love to know any titles of people that I should watch out for. I don't do a ton of trading lately but would like to know who to watch out for if I decide to start doing more trading again. Sad that people feel the need to resort to stuff like this though for virtual items

Whew, okay so today you know who tried to scam someone, I came into the room and when I saw his title I was like hmm.. It's framilar I know it from somewhere! and I checked my inbox on Dis and I remember that Minnie (thanks Minnie) that told me who the scammer was, exact match I found him and his Lackey, I stood by the entrance of the offer room I was about to tell the owner that he was a scammer, when someone else had told her and she said that he had scammed her right after that he left, but I managed to take a screenshot of him and his lackey. He is wearing a minnie hat, a blizzard beach outfit and his Lackey is in the blonde kid behind him.

Something to think about...are larger trade windows really the answer? All I can see is just more items someone will scam from others. I said this in another thread but I think alot of scams could be prevented if you would take the time to check the trade each time before saying ok so you know what is there for sure. As well as looking for the red flag warnings. They are there. If your gut tells you something is up then it is probably right...if it seems to good to be true, well it probably is. I see so many things here about people being scammed but some had taken that little extra time and thought they might not have been. I know lots of this has been said before but it seems to always need to be repeated a ton. LOL Maybe it needs to be said in the trade rooms as well. I'm glad those of you that are catching this person in the act are able to warn others so they aren't scammed. Obviously you warn them, then they can warn friends and their friends can do the same and so on. Word gets around and hopefully that will be a big help to watch for this loser.
