Never been to chef Mickey's, going there for breakfast on our trip, I know its buffet, is it good brakfast?

Breakfast is great!!! It is one of our must dos every vacation. The kids love it and are completely entertained. We actually make some of their breakfast recipes at home.

great , what characters usually show up? or where can i get a list of characters at each of the character restaurants?

sorry for all the questions!

NOTE: As with most character meals, you are paying
for the characters, and possibly atmosphere, but not the
food. Food is ample and tasty, but quality only average
or even slightly below. Unfortunately, we believe the food
quality has gone down hill significantly lately. Currently,
Chef Mickey's is highly disappointing.

We went for the first time last year and LOVED it. The whole fab five were there too!! Of course, my DS asked for Daisy..... I thought the food was great, and just the other night, DH mentioned that it was the best meal he had.

We loved our experience at Chef Mickey's for breakfast last month. Mickey, Donald, Goofy, Minnie and Pluto all came by. Kids loved it. Didn't think the food was too bad - it's your typical breakfast buffet - but we were too distracted with the characters that I can hardly remember eating anything!

Nice, I have a feeling we will love it too, as long as Mickey and minnie are there for my daughter, it will make it great!

I would say the food is decent/good, but the overall experience is great!

I have only been there once but I thought they had really great food and they have some of the best croissants I have ever had.

Food is better than a school cafeteria but not much better. It's the character interaction you're paying for. It's good but a bit rushed. My little guy didn't understand the quick hi/bye he got from most of them characters.

I changed my mind. The food was kind of gross.

I have to dissent. I was sorely disappointed both times I tried it. Tusker House bkfst is SOO much better, and when you're done, you're already in the park.

We've been to Chef Mickey's several times and this last time was probably the worst experience we've had there. The food quality was just so/so...we've had better breakfast buffets at Tusker House, Cape May, and Crystal Palace. The service was poor...it took our server 30 minutes to bring more juice/milk to the table. The only good thing was the character interaction...the characters are a bit rushed but always willing to pose for pics, sign autographs and occassionally goof off with the kids.

I've put my foot down about returning to CM. I'm not a fan of buffets but went for the character interaction. However, our last visit I felt like they had added more tables to the dining room and we were smashed right up against another table. The food is only so-so, and I definitely felt rushed. I wouldn't worry too much about the food anyway; in my experience the kids are more excited about seeing the characters than eating, and the grownups are too busy taking pics to eat. ;)

I would never pay OOP for it, but on the dining plan, and having the characters come to your table instead of you having to stand in line? There's the value.

Chef Mickeys food is just MEH...... I've eathen there twice and found the experience to be more enjoyable than the food. Just don't go into it with high expectations on the food and you will be fine.

It is not the best breakfast buffet at WDW, but it's decent. And there are Mickey waffles!

And, it's the only character meal where Mickey & Minnie are together (along w/ Donald, Goofy, & Pluto).

So breakfast at Chef Mickey's is a "must-do" for us. (But I wouldn't want to have dinner there - just breakfast. I figure, it's pretty hard to mess up breakfast basics!)

I also like that it's in the Contemporary Resort. The monorail runs overhead, & it just feels very "Disney" to me... especially on a bright, sunny morning!

We love Chef Mickeys!! The food is great, there is so much to choose from you won't walk away hungry. Oh yeah, and all the wonderful characters are there to make the experience much more magical.

The things about asking for opinions on food/restuarants is that seldom do two people view them the same, you just have to try for yourself. Personally, my family loves CM but we do not like Corral Reef at all and others love it. Some love Ohana but it is not high on our list anymore. First time we went we all loved it, last time we had terrible service and were completely ignored by the characters and their handlers. We are not planning to go back this time but for others it is a must do. My point is, dinig is a "to each his own" type thing.
