I have an ipad, so see no need for an expensive iPhone.
My flip-phone ( it was old!), fell apart.
Any suggestions for a decent phone that won't break the bank.
I do like the look of a touch screen. Thanks for any help.

Well, a lot will depend on your carrier. Each one has different phones.

I agree that it will depend on your carrier. If you have a contract, I'm sure you're due for an upgrade, in which case you can get many phones practically for free. (Older model iPhone's included.) With an upgrade, even a brand new iPhone 5c is going to be less than $100. I think most places are selling them for around $50 right now for the holidays. If you're using a pre-paid service, there's really no such thing as a cheap phone. That's kind if the point. You pay full price for the device in exchange for cheaper monthly service. I'm sure there are some that are more reasonable than others though, and maybe someone else could help you with specific models. If you do have a contract plan though, I wouldn't rule out the iPhone. Yes, I have one, and yes, I'm a fan, but they're much more user friendly than any of the Androids on the market, and if you have an iPad, you already have apps and you're familiar with the interface.

Passing along this sale, I just found.
Target has the iphone C for $50' plus a $50 gift card.
On hold there until I decide tomorrow.
I only hesitate because of the extra data package.
Thanks for the replies.

I have Verizon wireless service, and I love my Samsung Brightside. It has a pretty good camera too. I'm not willing to have a monthly data charge when I already pay for hi-speed internet.

I have Verizon and the Iphone 4 was free with 2-year contract. I only got it because it was the included option.

Previously I had an Android phone (I had the Droid Incredible, don't know what the new models are) but I really liked the platform better than Iphone. I always just get what they'll give me though. Cell phones are not something I want to spend money on.

Check out Tracfone (yes, I said Tracfone) -- they recently added 2 proven Android models to their lineup, and you only pay for the voice/text/data you need, which for many, could be as low as 7 bucks a month.

Oh, and these phones use the always-reliable Verizon national network....

depends on your carrier,as some phones work only some carriers.... I personally love my HTC Incredible2.... but it works with my carrier....(verizon,pageplus) bought it 2nd hand from an Amazon seller....

I second this.
