Gonna Jump Out the Window and Run to Disney World! Oct '12 PTR

Hi! I'm Brea and this is my October 2012?!?! PTR! Welcome!

This PTR originally started as a September '11 trip.. We found out that we are having a baby in October of '11, so we post poned the trip to October 2012!

So, last night as my older two children and I were watching the DVR'd Disney Christmas Day Parade, my 5 year old DS said, "Mom, I am just going to jump out of that window and run to Disney World!" My 3 yr old DD said, "Yeah me too!" Hence the title of my PTR.

Yesterday I found out that my best friend, her husband, and their three children will be joining us for our September trip!! We are SOO excited!!

Our dates will be September 17 - 24. That means... MNSSHP!!! We are SO excited!!!

So many decisions! Here is what I am trying to figure out now.
Should we stay in a villa at BLT? AKL? TH Villas with the 40%? Or should we stay separately (us at CS, my friend and her family at POR).. Which would be cheaper, the room % off or Kids Play and Stay Free? SO many choices!!

After a few hours of getting quotes on different resorts, then requoting with the Kids Stay and Play Free, I think we may have things narrowed down to..


POR for BOTH families.. this is what seems to be the best over all deal for all of us. Even though my DH had his heart set on CS, and mine was set on BLT.. I actually called Disney yesterday and they had NO villas or rooms large enough to accomodate ALL 10 of us left.. EVERYthing was booked!!

Is September REALLY that busy??

I was 17 weeks pregnant.. so my four month old has been to WDW, but this will be his first trip on the "outside!"

Hi! I thought I would join your pre-trip report. We are possibly going to be there the same time as you. I have our packages booked but am not sure that we are going yet.
Your children are adorable. I love the face painting picks!
You were wondering if the September crowds were bad. I don't think they are bad at all. We have been to WDW in November and March and the crowds were a lot worse those times. We have been in September 4 times if that helps. It will be hot and humid but not unbearable.

Hi, I'm joining! I'll be going a little after you do, 10/1-10/9 so I thought it would be fun to plan along with other people who are going this fall also! I'm going to start a PTR for my trip eventually, but not until my Nov. TR is finished!

I don't think because the villas you checked for are booked means September will be busy, I think it's just because when they released the discounts a few days ago, people jumped on them and started booking like crazy, so I think the limited amount of rooms they have with the discount are already booked for certain categories!

Congrats on choosing POR, it's a great resort, I just stayed there in November! And your kids are adorable!

I think you'll be fine with the weather. This past year it was pretty hot all summer here (Ohio) and WDW didn't seem too bad. I figured we were more used to it. I think it helps that a lot of the attractions are inside so you are in air conditioning about as much as the outdoors.
The fall decorations are really pretty too. Fall is probably my favorite season so I love all of pumpkins and leaves and other decorations they put out.

I wondered if you were from Ohio or at least fans of OSU because your daughter had on a Buckeyes t-shirt. We are kind of in the northwest Ohio area about 50 miles southeast of Toledo.

I am finishing up my TR from May and then it will be time to start a NEW TR! Feb. 13-15th Disneyland bound!
