We wanted to have the 11 month avaliablity to get at least a 8day/7night stay with a 2 bedroom at the our home resort once a year during the priemer season without borrowing points so when the kids DS-6/DD-4 want seperate beds instead of sharing with us (DH&DS - DW&DD: more like DH would like peaceful sleep with DW for once during vacation) we wouldnt have to worry about same use year avaliblity and price increases @ 4-5 years from now. If we did an add-on at BCV, even with the same 180 point purchase it would have cost more and the 180 at a new resort would not have helped or worked for us with our soon to be regular 1 or 2 bedroom stays for the amount of days we go on vacation each year. So now we will have a total of 480 VWL points for any combo imaginable and all points have the same 11 month window.
Congradulations to both of you. Can I ask who you both bought your re-sales from? We are looking also with the Timeshare Store and are on the waiting list with DVC for OKW.
Sorry - didn't mean to mislead. We have bought all of our contracts directly from Disney. They make it WAY to easy!! I was off the phone in less than 10 minutes...
ncligs, We just took a chance after a late night purchase thought and picked up the phone that morning and next thing we knew we were buying the add-on. We called The Timeshare Store and Pat was our agent contact. I wish a lot of other things in life would go as smooth - LOL !
If Disney had the add-on for our use year, we would have just purchased it through them for convience.
Good Luck on your add-on.
1 question - I know I saw a post about add-on's that said something about gettind DVC to have your accounts avaliable for viewing on one "screen" instead of having no knowledge with out telling them about the add-on account - Any answers or imput how to address this issue?
Beth, since we both have 480 points - time to go play "pick 3" - hehe
Gigashadow, I see that you bought VWL on 2/2/02. That was also the day we bought VWL! This was the last day before BCV went on sale, as I really wanted VWL.
There again, we looked into buying DVC in 2000 and stalled. When we called back for info on 2/1/2002, Guide told us "VWL closes tomorrow so if you have interest in that Home Resort over new to be BCV you have till (I think it was 4pm)" So, we liked the idea of having a Home Resort with a strong theme like the Poly had and called her at 3:45pm and locked it up. Gotta love them "Just Do It" moods. It would be interesting how many people bought last minute that day.
