golfing?

I managed to convince dh that we need to go to DL BUT I figured I'd throw a game of golf or a golf resort in there just to sweeten the deal!

We will be there for either 9 or 10 nights in March 2009 and will be doing Disneyland for 4 nights/5 days. We also want to go to hollywood, Universal (maybe) and a day at a beach in there.

We would like the option of either 9 or 18 holes as I'm not sure the 9yo would last long enough to do the full 18 - He's only done 9 at a time. Dh and our almost 15yo might want to do the full 18 though. Can anyone recommend somewhere for us?

I don't golf personally, but other members in my family do. I may be able to help if you tell me more.

Are you looking for a nice place to golf, or just a local golf course? What is your max price to play a round & how far are you willing to drive away from anaheim?

doesn't have to be fancy - we typically pay $17 to $50 CAD for 9 holes (which is all my almost 9yo can handle at this point) but don't mind paying up to $75 depending on the course and that's per person.
We want to see other area's too so don't mind driving - we will only be doing Disney for 4 days or so - other things we want to do are the beach, hollywood, universal. We've also considered extending the vacation to make it a full 2 weeks now and going in August rather then March. not sure how hot/busy it would be then though.

I'm not a golfer, but I've heard of the Dad Miller course in Anaheim ...

the website that the pp posted pretty much gives you the public courses in the area. it's a good site.

you may also want to try aliso creek in laguna if you're interested in looking for a short course. being near the beach, you might get in a beach day too. remember, when looking for a course, that it can get hot & humid playing inland in august & your children may not enjoy playing in it, unless they're used it. even at aliso creek, I think it can get pretty hot b/c it's in the canyons but at least it's a short course & you'll be ready to hit the beach after the round.

laguna has some nice tide pools & shopping areas to enjoy as well.

to stay cooler, you can also try to golf at miles square or meadowlark, but they're not really pretty. just local golfing. however, they are not too far from the beaches of huntington if you wanted to travel to the beach before/after a round of golf.
