We are members at SSR so we usually golf at Lake Buena Vista Golf Course however we want to try a new course either on or off Disney property. Any golfers out there who can recommend a course?

LBV is generally considered as the 4th best of the courses on site, so if you try any of the others, you'll have a good time. Osprey is probably the best. I played it years ago and enjoyed it a lot. It's a Tom Fazio course and runs through some woods and has wide rolling fairways but challenging shots into the greens. I also like Palm a lot, but am less of a fan of Magnolia. Also, with either the DVC or annual pass discounts, you're getting a bargain. If you go offsite, the Hyatt Grand Cypress is supposed to be good and is very close to SSR, but you're probably going to pay more than onsite.

just played palm and magnolia last week when i was down. Both will be shut down this wee but once open again offer a challenge. Mag is a little more open and palm has a lot of risk reward to offer. both fun courses.

DH has played all 4 courses many times and he'd agree with the recommendation of those two. I'm afraid he's never played off-site so can't recommend any from his own experience. However, the guys he played with last year had played the course over at Bonnet Creek and they highly recommended it. They said that you don't have to be staying there to play the course, but I haven't figured out how.

As stated, LBV is the fourth rated course. For my money I would opt for Orange County National about 5 miles north of WDW.

It is where the PGA Q-School final is normally played. Very fun course.

Have not played Celebration or the Grand Hyatt course.

That new course, which is very good, is open to the public. It is called the Waldorf Astoria Golf Club which you can Google and get info

ORANGE COUNTY NATIONAL - (10 minutes from Disney)

It's Best Golf Course in Central Florida. You will be Amazed. They have 2 courses and they are just spectacular and always meticulously maintained.

What kind of course are you looking for? Value, overall quality? What kind of layout do your like, and what is your max distance from WDW?

IMHO Osprey Ridge is by far the most scenic but the condition of it has deteriorated over the last 3-4 years since the property was sold, particularly the greens.
For my skill level LBV is the most enjoyable and easiest, and generally in pretty good condition. Magnolia is the most difficult in my opinion, but it's where I have shot my lowest score of the 4 Disney courses.

I am looking forward to playing several off site courses such as Celebration, Orange County National, Falcons Fire, Orange Lakes and Waldorf Astoria. All within a 10-15 minute drive.
