Sorry if this has been covered many times before, tried to do a search but came up with nothing:surfweb:. We are leaving for 2 weeks at WDW on Friday :tigger:and this time we are planning to relax and take it easy. We are taking out the golf clubs and looking to get the DVC golf membership for the discount. The discount includes being able to get bag storage, club cleaning, discount on lessons and transport to the golf clubs. We have never played in america let alone disney and was not sure what the correct procedure or amount for tipping is as some of the services are free. Also we were thinking of using the spa at SSR and again was not sure what the general rule of thumb is for tipping here. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated as we are wanting to avoid being the ignorant Brits.

I can answer what we do for some of this.

For the spa, I tip minimum 20% of the treatment cost. Some of the treatments have a DVC discount and I tip based on the non-discounted cost.

For golf, the transportation is via a cab. My husband tips $3-$4 each way, depending on how far the cab ride is from where we are staying. Most cab rides, if paying for them, are $10-$20 at WDW.

My husband does not do lessons or club care at WDW but I would tip 20% of whatever those services would cost if you were paying OOP. You could ask what the cost is and then tip accordingly.

Spas in general are 15-20% of the treatment cost - of course depending on the service you receive.

At the golf course most likely someone in carts will provide most of the services you mentioned. If it's club cleaning a few dollars is appropriate. If storage were done then a few dollars when your bag is retrieved. For lessons - figure again the 15-20% of the regular lesson cost.

Thank you both for your kind advice and guidance. All I have left to do now is decide what to do when and where.
Oh yes and best not forget to pack.
