I was wondering what type of discount (if any) that DCV members receive if playing on one of the Disney courses?

I am not DVC member, but played with a member in September and he payed 10 less than me. I am not sure if he had to pay for that or it is automatic. I do know that he recieved a discount.

In order to get a discount, the DVC member has to buy the yearly card. I'm not sure of the price right now-$50? Or more? Then, the discount only applies to tee times after 10:00am. I think it's $35 per round from mid-May to late September, then $50 until mid-January, then $95 until mid-May again. I'm trying to remember the exact dates and prices. I know it's the same price, regardless of which course you play, so it's a better deal at some courses than others. But remember, to get the discount, you have to have purchased the card. If you're only golfing once or twice, it may not be a good deal.

Here is some infor from the DVC website:

The Disney Vacation Club Golf Membership also grants Members other exclusive benefits, such as complementary golf bag storage, club and shoe cleaning service, club transfer service, a special tee gift, and transportation to any Walt Disney World golf course from select Walt Disney World Resort hotels. Additionally, Members also receive free golf club and shoe rentals at any Walt Disney World golf course, until December 31, 2005.

To participate in this plan, purchase a Disney Vacation Club Golf Membership (valid for one year from date of purchase) for the discounted price of $50 plus tax. Members may purchase the Golf Membership at any Walt Disney World Pro Shop or by calling (407) 939-1313. Cardholders and up to three Guests (only when they are playing with the Cardholder) receive special per-round pricing.

Disney Vaction Club Golf Membership
Pricing per round
Season Dates Prices
Regular Season Rounds January 21 - April 25 $50
Peak Season Rounds October 1 - January 20 $89
Value Season Rounds April 26 - September 30 $35

On the benefits pages it says clubs and other items are not covered .

very confusing but according to others who have been there, clubs and shoes are free.

Just a correction to the above otherwise correct info. Peak season and $89 a round is for those mid-Jan through April times; Regular and $50 a round is that Oct through mid-Jan time. The discount card lasts a year and you buy it the first time you show up for a round at the clubhouse. You are getting your smallest discount during that May to Sep time when regular rates after 10 are only $45 to $60 and you are getting your largest discount during that peak time when regular rates range from $135 to $165. Note, if you have an annual pass, you can get a 30% discount off of regular rate and that applies without having to buy another discount card and not just to those after ten times but also to early morning.

I just passed ROFR and should close in a few days, but I was anxious to get the golf info. I appreciate all your help.

Anyone know of any golf discounts other than those for DVC members? They will be needed for Christmas time.

Member website is incorrect and drusba is correct.

I just booked 5 rounds for 2 people from 12/18-12/23 today using the DVC Member discount. Each round of golf was $50.

I know there's a "2 for" price that's a discount (slight). DH is paying 2 for $169 in November. That's good for any tee time (not just after 10:00, like DVC is) and any course. It's a pretty good discount if you play Osprey Ridge early, not much if you play LBV after 10:00.

When I called to make reservations, I just said I'd heard of it somewhere (I don't even remember where-maybe someone here mentioned it) and she said "Yes, what two courses?" After I made the first tee time, she just said "And what does he want for the second one?" No special discount # or card I had to have. This discount just seems to be something people know of by word of mouth-I haven't seen it adverstised.
