If by the golf package, you mean the DVC golf membership, we have done it many times. The membership cost is $50.00 for a year. The benefits vary by the time of the year. In all cases, play must begin after 10 AM. In the summer and fall seasons, the tee times can be made 90 days in advance. In the prime season Jan-April or May tee times can only be made 14 days in advance. Green fees vary by season also. I think the summer fees are $35.00 per person, the fall (Oct through Dec) the fees are $50.00 per person and the prime season fees are $85.00 per person. The member has to play and the fees are good for the entire four some.

DW and I got a membership last Dec. We used it last Dec and this month. We got about 32 rounds out of it, so we saved a pile of money over the two trips.

I have the golf membership as well and it is totally worth it. I have 3 rounds booked for the end of the month and have played rounds in the past. The discount on the pro lessons are worth the price alone plus the club cleaning and clubs transfer as a bonus.

Just know that with the DVC golf membership, you can only book tee-times after 10:00. DH used it one year, but he likes earlier tee-times, and since he has an AP, those discounts are fairly comparable (not quite as good, but at least he could book at 7:30-8:00). And the club transfer is a perk for all golfers, not just DVC.

I just played Mag and Osprey a little over a week ago. Both were in great shape. Have fun

We bought it one year, and like an AP got two trips out of it by doing a week at the beginning of the year (June) and a week at the end of the year (May). Both trips were centered around golfing, so we were playing 4-5 rounds on each of those trips. The first trip we had another couple with us, so we were getting the discount for the entire foursome.

We booked our tee times right at 90 days out, and asked for them to be as close to 10am as possible. Booking that way, we were teeing off between 10 and 10:30 for each round.

It may not be worth it if you are just planning to fit in a round of golf while others tour the parks, but if you are planning to buy several rounds it can save a lot of money. (I'm also not sure if it is worth it for the high season, as we would never play then because it's too expensive - we're cheap!) You should do a cost/benefit analysis for yourself and see if it will save you money.

what if i go to WDW in JUne and like to play in the afternoon anyway when the rates are cheap should i still get the golf membership? or just pay the cheap afternoon fee? will only play 3/4 times a year down there anyways

I have bought the DVC golf membership for the past several years. My husband and I have saved so much money. We don't mind the 10 tee time. Most of the time we get a tee time between 10:05 and 10:30.

We have brought others with us and they even saved money by us using our membership.

I love the idea of the free transportation from your hotel to the golf course with your membership. This is great for people who don't have a car.

I have also enjoyed the benefits of golf lessons with the membership too.
If you plan on doing some golfing, it is definately worth checking out for yourself.

Actually the transportation thing to the course is available to all guests at most WDW resorts, not just DVC Golf Members
