DH and I are heading down in less than 2 weeks :cheer2:. DH wants to golf once, if not twice. I have no interest in golf. I have an AP, so I can get him a discount at Disney's parks (I think) if he wants to go there (and if they have openings). Can anyone recommend some other good, but relatively inexpensive courses in the Orlando area? We'll have a car. Thanks!

When my dad and DH played over NYE, they go 50% off greens fees with DH's AP. A really good deal.

Good Morning.
We stay 3 months in the area and I work part time at a local course as a starter.
In my opinion, golf in this area has changed 180 degrees since the recession.
5 years ago, I would have told you to get reservations early to get a tee time. Now golf courses are fighting to stay above water although much better this year than last.
I would recommend coming down and using a booking site like www.golfnow.com a day or two before he wants to play. All prices are reduced 10 to 50 percent. They have come to dominate tee time business on the internet and have some real good deals.
One local course for a great price is Orange Lake Reserve, another was mentioned, Royal St. Cloud. The farther he wants to drive from Disney, the better the deal. If he does not mind 45 minute drive, I have sent many folks to Deer Island by Mt. Dora. Beautiful course on an island with 10 to 16 foot gators everywhere.
It is on Golfnow under "Northwest Orlando" for about $45.

Good luck and have fun.
Ted

Thanks! I passed this all along to DH. He appreciates it!
