Golf Courses at Vero Beach?

My husband would like to golf two times when we stay at Vero Beach. Any recommendations for good golf courses?

DS played at Sandridge Golf Club, the Dunes Course. I don't know if it's a public or private course-he was playing with residents of Vero Beach, the town, that he knew, not the resort. But he said that it was a nice course and after golf, they drove over to the resort to buy me a souvenir, so it must be close.

Public course, owned and operated by Indian River County. About a 10 minute drive from Disney’s VB Resort. https://www.sandridgegc.com/

Sandridge is definitely the public option that comes to mind.

Vista Plantation is another public course, but it is further away, and not as nice.

I believe all the other courses are private. Not sure if the resort has a connection with any of them that could get you in at slower times of the year, or something like that.

Is he a golf sicko (like me)??? If so, I would drive the 2 hours to Streamsong and not feel bad about it at all, for at least one round, or make of day of it and play 36 and have myself a golf day.

If he is a casual golfer, then ignore my recommendation.
