I am new to SWA (they will be coming to GRR in August:cool1:) so I have a quick question. How do they charge for golf clubs as checked baggage? I found the following on the website:

Golf bag in hard-sided golf bag carrying case provided by Passenger, including clubs, balls, and shoes. Hooded golf bags or golf bags in a soft-sided carrying case provided by the Passenger will be conditionally accepted.
Note: Overweight charges will apply to golf bags exceeding 50 pounds.

If they are less than 50 pounds, is there any additional fee? Oversize bag, for example? Just curious...

I believe they are counted toward the 2 bags free allowance and yes if over 50 lbs there would be a charge.

But to be sure give them a call.

We just flew last month with hubby's clubs in his oversize travel bag - just under 50 lbs (I believe it was 48, so he squeeked by!), and it counted as one of his free bags along with his suitcase to check.
