Golf Cart Rental

Kenny's ****************.com gets mentioned a lot here

I personally went with Beachlinegolfcarts.com since I never heard back from Kenny

But I have heard great things about both companys

We booked with Beachline for our December trip this year. DH called both Kenny and Beachline directly and never heard back from Kenny. He said Beachline made it so easy to reserve a cart for our two week stay. And we are saving a significant amount of money over a FW rental. They even said we were welcome to decorate the cart for the holidays.

I spoke with Beachline today. They said that I would need to have a vehicle to get the cart into the fort. They say that Disney is cracking down on renting carts from outside vendors. My problem is that we are flying and using ME. So I will not have a vehicle. The guy said that he would try and figure a way to get the cart to me without me needing a vehicle - and if he can, then we can work it out.

Anybody get a golf cart into the park without having to go get it?

Disney is cracking down on all offsite golf cart providers. None can honestly say they will deliver to the Fort on every rental.

Folks sometime can get a cart without a pickup when, for example, I'm leaving the Fort the same day you are arriving. In those cases, the vendor MIGHT simply make arrangements between the two of you (the pickup and the following drop off) that will not require going offsite. But obviously you never know who's renting immediately before your arrival until, well, just before you arrive. So you can't count on that.

Kenny is more responsive to telephone calls and people have reported better luck if you try him in the morning (like 8-10am) but you have to be persistent. His number is on his website.

You might ask any vendor if you can meet them off the Fort and you drive their vehicle in. For example, take a bus to Downtown Disney. Have them meet you there (they will have the trailer with them). Ask if you can drive their vehicle into the Fort (you will use your Magic Band or KTTW card to enter the front gate). Obviously this will take an exchange of cell phone numbers to work. Do it all in reverse for a pickup.

Disney's intent is to make it as inconvenient as possible for guests using offsite vendors who rent at a lower cost in order to try to reestablish their monopoly on the Fort property at confiscatory rates.

So you can:

1. Pay the Man
2. Scramble to save some $$$
3. Do without

PS - oh, gia2012, I saw a post you made last year about Fort cabins that are near campsites and how to arrange it. Unfortunately you didn't get a complete answer. For folks that want a cabin and a campsite close to each other, we recommend loop 2100 for the cabin and 1100 for the campsite. These loops are adjacent. Each party make a reservation separately requesting the recommended loop. Then EXCHANGE reservation numbers and call WDW reservations back and have that other ressie number added as a note to your reservation. That is called "linking reservations" (I want to be near them and they want to be near me). Those two loops are back to back and you could throw a tbone steak from the back of a campsite in 1100 onto the deck of a cabin in 2100. They are that close. So linking reservations will get you there. And when you check in (both of you) make sure this is actually implemented.

Thanks Bama for all the info on both golf cart threads. Because I hate waiting around - I think it will be easier to just rent the darn cart. It was my understanding that you could not reserve the 6 seaters at FW, IF they have them available when you get there, then you can snag one.

I'm not opposed to paying the Disney price. But I am always open to finding a less expensive way... if there is one.

Being the cheapie that I am - we are taking 6 people in September and the whole trip will a hair under 5K including airfare, meals, park tickets, and room. So I don't feel so bad about splurging a little for a cart.

... I even bought everyone WDW t-shirts and other park souvenirs on sale at the Disney Store and some pins and lanyards second hand. They will all get a nice little package when we arrive and I won't be buying a bunch of stuff in the parks. :hyper:

I lived most of my life only 8 hours from WDW... I'm finally going now that I live twice as far away...

We are in the same situation, flying in with no vehicle. When DH spoke with Beachline a couple weeks ago he was just told they would arrange a meeting spot on our arrival day and DH would use his Magic Band to get the truck and trailer into FW. I'm not sure if DH or the Beachline rep will be driving the truck when they come in. DH tows car trailers all the time at home, so he's fine either way. It really didn't sound like that big a deal. DH will go get the cart while the girls and I unpack or hang out at the pool.

Our trip isn't until December, so obviously things can change between now and then. We're willing to take the risk and deal with a little bit of inconvenience to save the money since we'll be there for two weeks.

Maybe you were the other person he was telling me about. He said I was the second person to call him who was flying in with no rental car.

I drag horses all over the place in my huge, heavy horse trailer. A golf cart on a trailer shouldn't be a problem. Maybe I will call him back and see if he would let me drive his truck through the gate.

I wonder if Disney would notice if I met him in the parking lot and jumped in the drivers seat...

I can see the golf cart police chasing me down now...

FW is full of conflicting information. I just called the resort directly. The lady told me that outside cart rentals were allowed and that the outside company could drop the cart off at the Bike Barn if it would be there prior to our arrival. If it is delivered after arrival, she told me that I could escort them through the front gate and they could deliver the cart directly to my cabin.

I am so confused. :confused3

Interdasting....Who exactly did you call? The Fort front desk? The Bike Barn? The main reservation number?

I rented from Beachline over Memorial Day weekend. They were great. Had the cart actually waiting for us at the outpost cart parking since he had another drop off that day. I spoke with them while on the bus to outpost, and he said if I hadn't already gotten on the bus from Settlement(were at MK that morning) he would have driven it to the settlement parking lot for us. Picking up was a bit of a hassle, more so for him. We used magic bands to get in, but Disney Security was already heading for us as we pulled up to the cart. He quickly loaded it and was out of there before they could cross the parking lot. He told me that he may have to change how he does things, like buying a lot of smaller trailers, meeting people offsite, and hitching them up and allowing them to leave the trailer in overflow until they bring the trailer/cart back to him at the offsite meeting place.

I can see where Disney wants to crack down on this, but people wouldn't be doing this if their carts weren't so expensive to rent. It's like the movie theater. People smuggle in food because the movie theater upcharges food so much. Also, on busier weekends like memorial day weekend where they are all booked up, they have to expect that people will rent from a 3rd party.

I rented from Kenny last Halloween week. He is sometimes hard to reach and self admittedly scatter brained. The best option is to call and leave a message and call back if he doesn't call in a few hours. The cart we got had light problems so it ruined our plans to cart heavily Halloween night. He worked on it twice and finally fixed it before we left. He offered and finally gave me a partial refund so I would say he is ethical and responsive if you stay on him. I will try him again next time we go.

That is the difference between Kenny at Tee Time (wish we had rented from him) and Central Florida Golf Carts. We got a quote from both companies and Kenny was a few dollars more expensive, so we went with CFGC. BIG MISTAKE!

We had problems with the lights (and a few other items like a tire and ignition switch)... We eventually got a replacement cart, but they made us feel terrible and we had to call again and again. The people we initially dealt with were very nice. But once the owner got involved it was a different story. He refused to offer any type of compensation for our trouble and inconvenience. (We left it up to him and would have been happy with an apology and a future discount... but he was so rude and unprofessional, we will never deal with him again.) We were upset enough we filed a Better Business Bureau complaint. So YES, service and reputation are important when choosing your Golf Cart Rental company. If everything goes right during your rental.... no problem. But the time you need for them to be heroes is when something goes wrong with your cart! ::yes::

Just rented from kenny at tee time. Communication we good, rate are great and cart worked well. Was half prices of disney rates for 13 days.

If disney ever bans off site cart and say we have to rent theirs, can they do the same for our cell phone service? what about our campers? or our Tow Vech? everybody must have chevys..

Disney is private property if Disney corp. wanted to prohibit outside golf carts they would be in their legal rights to do so. I don't see them doing that anytime soon as their would be pushback from a fair amount of customers but that doesn't mean Disney will make it easy for their competition.

Their are many campgrounds in this country that prohibit campers in their campground that older that ten years. This is also up to the property owner and is within that owners legal prerogative to do.

Anyone with a story from this week with regards to outside golf cart rental? I'm looking at renting one soon, and I'd like to know that it's still okay to rent one from an off property dealer. One of the posts above mentions security coming nearby while they were doing an exchange, and that kind of gives me the heebie-jeebies. :scared1:

Sweet Maxine,

You CAN still rent from an off-site vendor. It's just Disney will try to prevent deliveries to the Fort (and pickups there). If you can get the cart off the Fort property and bring it in yourself using your KTTW card or Magic Band to get in through the guest gate, there has been no problem.

That's the part I'm unclear about, I think. Would I have to bring it in on a trailer myself? I'm only using a rental car.

I promise that I'm not trying to be dense, but it seems there must be a bit of a hassle to it all.

You would have to talk with your vendor to see if they will let you drive their vehicle in with the trailer behind it or if they will let you ride shotgun while they drive but you still use your KTTW/MB to get in. Obviously they would have a preference.

You bet Disney is making it a hassle. They want you to buy their cart usage. And they want to make it hard to use outsiders. It's that simple.

All I can say is work out what you can. And I know you aren't dense.

Got it. I'll see what I can arrange with the vendor.

As for my denseness, well, I have been told there are times.... ;)
