Can you rent a golf cart at Wilderness lodge?

If not, can you rent one at Fort Wilderness for a day if you are not a guest there?

And if so to either question, how much are daily rentals? How long can you have them?

We are staying at Wilderness Lodge with a 2 year old and have a day planned to check out FW. Would be great to have a golf cart. That would be an attraction in itself for a two year old! :hyper:

The golf carts are not available at the WL. But you can rent them at the Bike barn in FW. The location is right next to the meadow trading post in the center of the campground. Depending on the time you are going you might want to call ahead for a reservation as these are very popular. They run a little over $40 for the day and you can only drive them within the campground. They are not allowed past the stables to the WL area.

I am sure your 2 year old will love the petting farm area and the chip & Dale campfire & movie that it held nightly.
The bike barn also has bikes for rent with the child carriage already hooked up as well.

I was going to suggest just renting bikes from WL with a Childcarrier attached, it is a nice ride to Ft. Wilderness and your 2 year old would love it. I can't remember the rental price.

I know you'll have a great trip: your staying at WL

OH !! You can rent the bikes at WL's Teton Boat and Bike Rental.

Thanks for the replies! Question about renting a bike...actually, question about the path from WL to FW. My dh and I are on the, er, plump side:blush: But I have been riding my bike around my neighborhood recently for exercise, but my dh hasn't. The hills are somewhat difficult for me to climb, and I'm not talking about big hills here, more like slopes:p Anyway, how hilly is the path from WL to FW and how long is it? How hilly is it in general at FW? I would love to rent bikes and ride and by then I should be in even better shape...but my dh will have no experience on a bike (okay, he knows how to ride a bike) and he is not a small man. Wonder if we should just stick to our feet?

Also, do they rent helmets for toddlers? Or adults for that matter?

The pathway is flat, I had no trouble and I hadn't been on a bike in years. They do supply helmets for the children (my nephew was about 2 1/2) it's a State Law for all children under a certain age, not sure about adults just can't remember if I wore one or not. I'm also no a good judge of distance about my DH said about 1.5 miles that might not be correct, maybe someone else knows exact distance. You could always have DH start riding with you before the trip. (My DH isn't small either and we where trying to keep-up with a 5,7, & 9 year old boys) For some reason they all wanted to be first.... ::yes::

The pathway is flat and paved. A nice, easy ride. I think 1.5 miles sounds about right.::MickeyMo
