Anyone know if Disney buys or leases their golf cart fleet? Also if they own them do they ever sell off old ones to buy new ones? I am guessing that by the time they reach the end of their useful lives many of the carts have seen more a$$ than Ben Roethlisberger. :grouphug: :cheer2: :love1:

Anyway my thought is that those Precedents seem to hold up well and fixing one up would be cheaper than buying a new one.

I have never seen them sell them off. So I assume they either lease them, or sell them off at auction in bulk.

Since you are from NY, I would recommend Myrtle Beach golf carts. They have a rental fleet that they sell about every year. They also carry the Tomberlin brand which are street legal NEV's, with the rear seat kit already installed. Their phone number is 843-215-4222.

I have seen some at property control but they ahve been the 6 pass. Someone on here had a lot of info on the Disney carts before but I cant recall for sure if they bought or leased.

Ive seen some of the equipment at property control...that stuffs usually on its last leg. It doesnt make it to property control until Disney figures its not worth repairing again. Most Country clubs sell their fleets off at the end of most summers....look around your area, you'll find something. Im sure you know to keep a close eye on your craiglist.com locals as well as ebay...although ebay rarely has anything thats NOT being sold by a pro these days.....I miss the old ebay before it was hijacked by store fronts.

I think this site is run by disney or its reps on ebay its called Mouse Surplus. They don't have much on at the moment. But I do recall there being disney golf carts on there or some other offical disney ebay seller in the past. They had regular carts and service style (say for house keeping). I have also seen various Disney vehicles on there. They sell about anything from Mr. Toad carts to left over merchandise. About a year ago I bought something at a steal that they sold at the Norway pavillion.
I agree though I would be skeptical about buying a cart from them unless you are really mechanical and willing to invest to rehab it. We own a cart but also rent carts for our shorter FT W vacations. In general the carts at Ft W are abused by many guests. Theres no gentle way to put this but lets just say many carts are carrying a lot more body weight than they were designed for. Then you have carts that are totally overloaded (against rules but they do it.)
If you live in area that has a lot of golf courses , then like someone mentioned you can usually find a good deal on a used cart. Theres not a lot to an electric cart and they last along time if not abused.
