I am told there is a path from CG to WL. Where is it and how long a ride is it? We will be in loop 700 and need to put mother in law and 2 college kids in cabin or WL. Price is about the same during peak season. I never would have thought that a regular room at WL would be same price as a cabin.

the path is about a mile long. one end of it is located over by where the busses drop off for the hoop dee doo (over by the petting zoo)

i know you can't drive on it, but i believe you can take bikes. (not sure about golf carts).

You can't drive your golf carts on that path.

Anymore :(

Used to be able to back in the day, that was our favorite place to go golf cart riding, we would ride all back in those woods, all the way till we could see the Contemporary.

It's not a horrendous walk but it's also not a short walk either.

You can't take your golf cart on it :sad2: We rode our bikes from WL to the 1800 loop in 14 minutes. We also walked it and it took about 25 minutes with the kids (from settlement to WL).

Or you can just hop on a bus at the settlement that will take you right to WL. Very convienant.

This is terrible news. I just watched Great Hotels w/ Samantha Brown and they featured WL with a few features of FW. She let everyone in on a 'secret' path that you can ride you carts in. I was actually looking forward to that.

In order to do that, you would have to drive directly past the sign that says "no carts beyond this point."

oh pish posh on the alleged closing of the path. here is a picture of us using it. they never saw us coming.

I prefer the brute force method, don't let those pesky security guards get in your way!!! ;)

Actually on the Ft. Wilderness end, they have installed the "posts" that are far enough apart to allow bicycles, ECVs, wheelchairs, and strollers through, but they are too close together to allow golf carts through.

You can put 10 mugs, but only camo ones. otherwise they might catch on.
:rotfl2:

Why do I have the feeling some moderator is going to close this thread because the original question has been answered?:confused3

I have photos of the walk from FW to the WL here: http://www.denisesfitnessblog.com/disney/?pg=2

You can scroll down to part II of the FW walk.

I am glad they don't allow golf carts - it would just be too much, with golf carts AND walkers, bikes, etc. The surrey bikes do go through there - but at least there aren't tons of them.

Hey now! Let's not carry on about the evil golf carts...;)

Although, they are a favorite topic of mine. I wish they were not allowed...:confused3

When did this occur..that you can't ride your golf cart on the path to the WL?...Just curious as I remember seeing them four years ago. Too many people riding to the end and then using the Lodge pool..or facilities?.:confused3

Didnt i see Samantha brown on the travel channel tell us we could ride our golf cart on it?
Never mind i just read the whole thread and realize that has changed, i was looking foward to that.
