I've wondered about this before, and now that I see it in a posting I thought it be interesting to hear other peoples' stories:

poohcat said,
just retured from OKW room 3516 ... only had one golf ball on the porch all week LOLOL ---"four"

Is dodging golf balls ever a problem?? I've never stayed at a resort that was on a golf course. I was just wondering.

Gives us OKWesters something else to do besides sitting on the porch playing tiddly-winks!:D (Beats the exercise program of swatting at those "no see ums" at Vero!) Better add that one to the list of activities!

(Hopefully, you all will take this in jest and not start up the "my resort is better than your resort, naaaaah (said with tongue sticking out and thumbs in your ears--don't forget to wave your fingers!)

In reality, we have stayed up on Miller's road for our two trips and never had a problem with that.

While an occasional stray ball may land nearby (we've even had a few hit the building- which makes quite a noise!), we've never had any problem with errant golf balls as a danger.

Guests are not allowed on the golf course or cart paths and there is no easy access to the areas behind the buildings anyway.

Just enjoy the view! :)

nice response Trudy I am up for that activity. Then again If I was the one golfing all OKWesters would have to watch out I stink LOL

Hey Trudy,

On our trip 2 years ago we stayed in a Grand Villa on Miller (don't remember the number) the number of golf balls we heard whizzing by us on the balcony was quite something. None ever landed on the balcony. I think we have stayed in every part of OKW and never had this experience before. It became quite funny. If anyone was watching us they probably thought we were nuts ducking every time we heard a ball coming.

I found one under my bed while I was staying there. :D It was Mickey one! Wonder if it came through the window.....?

We actually had one break the window of our Explorer during a trip. Can't remember what buidling we were in (near the quiet pool on the side closest to The West Side). Disney actually paid our $500.00 deductable. When we returned from the parks we noticed the broken window, called front desk. They took a report and sent someone to cover the window just before one of those summer afternoon downpours. The company that came to fix it the next day wanted us to wait around all afternoon but the manager at the front desk held our truck keys and told us to enjoy our day in the parks and they would see to it to get the keys back when the company was finished replacing the window. The manager than gave us a number to call for claims, we had our $500.00 deductable within a few weeks. I was quite happy with the was Disney handled everything. :bounce:

Perhaps it's time to limit my margarita consumption--all this time I just thought they were giant love bugs:D!

Actually, we were in building 20 on an end unit (towards the golf course) and never noticed a thing. Maybe you guys just hit "duffer's week" while you were there!

sorry about those golfballs guys. But would you mind collecting them all and keeping them on the side for me so when I return to OKW I will have some golf balls to play with????
