So I did online check and totally forgot to look at booking the simulators. Now I was able to get the golf simulator but the sports was all booked up. Can I expect some to open up? Just wondering if it’s worth it to keep checking. Also, I only booked golf for 30 min. Is it worth it to do a full hour or is 30 min enough?

I tried the golf sim on the Dream. Kinda sucked. Not a good selection of clubs and just didn't seem to work very well. I quit after about 15 minutes.

Are you wanting to book sports simulator for adults or kids? If for kids under 12, I'd save your money for something else unless they are elite athletes. Many of the sports activities on the simulator don't even detect the ball/puck/etc unless it's moving at least 30-40 mph. My 10 year old daughter got extremely frustrated because less than half her throws would register. Even then, the accuracy is questionable.

And then I thought I would show her how it's done (39 years old, former college athlete, used to have a fastball in the high 80's) and so I put the baseball game on where you pitch to Goofy. It was on beginner level, I threw with no warmup about 70 mph and Goofy took me yard and made me look like an idiot. I can't imagine what you'd have to do to strike him out on advanced level...does Clayton Kershaw regularly sail with DCL???

Of course this was just my family's experience, I'm sure there will be someone who will reply and tell you they had an absolutely wonderful time.

My kids are 18 and 16. Both athletic- one going to Div 1 college on athletic scholarship. That being said, your experience has led me to think that if I can get a 30 min slot I’ll take it, but definitely won’t go for 60. Thanks for your input. Overall the reviews I’ve read haven’t been great.

Thanks. That’s what I’ve read in most reviews. I’ll stick with 30 just to say we tried it...

Unless things have changed, if you book the golf simulator, you can also use it for the other sports. The opposite was not true. Booking sports does not allow you to use it for golf.

That’s the first I’ve heard that. If that’s the case maybe I would change it to an hour. I’ll have to look into it further. Thanks!

When we sailed on the Fantasy, there was no availability for the sports simulator online, but were able to get a time by visiting the Port Adventures desk immediately upon boarding. 30 minutes was plenty for us.
