Golden Oak Outpost?

Believe it or not, I just learned of this spot. And I've been to WDW probably 12-15 times since 1996.

The flatbread sandwiches sound good. Is there an area where you can sit? The picture on wdwinfo makes it look like it's strictly a take away stand. I cant see walking while trying to eat a flatbread sandwich.

And where approximately is this located? Any input on the food would be appreciated.

It's just south of Splash Mountain, walking towards Adventureland. It was located right outside the side entrance for Pecos Bill.

I don't remember much (if any) seating as it is an outdoor "cart-type" fast food. But there are quite a bit of outdoor seating at Pecos Bill. Last time I orderd kids meals from Pecos Bills (because I don't remember the Outpost having kids meals), and sat my DDs at an outside table at Pecos while I walked over to get myself something.

The food was better I thought, but it was a long slow-moving line.

I definitely learned it was not worth going to 2 different counters for a meal - no matter how close.

I ordered a chicken nuggets meal for my DD there the night we went to MVMCP. DH and my oldest DD were in Pecos Bills ordering burgers for the rest of us. We ate as a family inside Pecos Bills. I even dropped the tray of nuggets, etc while trying to push a double stroller with an infant in it ans wrangle my DD who turned 3 that day and a CM went out to the Outpost to replace my entire tray's worth of food...including the unopened bottle of water!

I love how Disney does stuff like this. I bought a fat pen for characters to sign DD7's autograph book. It started to leak ink and we threw it away. Poor Pinochio got his white gloves a bit messed up.

Anyway, when DH went to a shop to pick up a new one and explained what happened, they simply handed him a new pen,...no charge.

When we were there in Sept, their was a whole section to the side of it that had seating. it matched the theming of the outpost, so I don't know if thats tecnically GOO, or Pecos Bills. the only people eating there had chicken from Golden Oak. We really liked the food, especially my husband.

If this is the place I am thinking of it is the old McDonald's French Fry Stand. I ate there in November and had a chicken BLT flatbread which was OK. I probably would not make a special trip over there just for that though. Next time I will likely just eat with the rest of the family as Cosmic Rays.
