golden corral???

I went there for a couple of breakfasts - it was great and plan to go again this time.

You can even have cheesecake for breakfast he he

we prefer golden corral of all the buffet restaurants. one thing we do like is the pricing policy. at sizzler, ponderosa etc you have to order some food, eg a steak, then you get the buffet with the meal. i always find that ive filled up on buffet before the meal ive ordered arrives then i end up wasting it. at golden corral you just pay for a buffet, steaks chicken etc are cooked to order at the buffet bar. golden corral also has a much much wider choice of desserts.

Yes, have to agree with you on the wasted food in other Buffet type places. Personaly we always visit Golden Corral at least once during our vacation, knocks spots off Sizzler and Ponderosa! We have been to Sizzler only once and it was worse than our old school cafeteria  i still feel ill when i think about that place.

Audrey :)

They also have a great healthy salad bar and a selection of food even our fussy 5 year old enjoys. Steak night is an absolute bargin and their Bourban Chicken is to die for.[/QUOTE
The Bourban chicken is great along with a large helping of Louisianna rice.
We have'nt been to Sizzlers for 3 years now since discovering the Golden Corral.:thumbsup2

We've never been to Golden Corral but it sounds good........ we're staying at the Hampton Inn on Universal Boulevard..... is there a Golden Corral near us? I can't remember !!

You seem to have a taste for good food Tony.... what's your opinion?

Sorry sue
only just got back on this thread but it looks like your questiuon has been answered anyway.
Well worth a visit, or two :goodvibes

As most people have said it is definately a place to check out. We have been home for a week and Im having golden corral withdrawal lol. We ate there for both breakfast and dinner. Breakfast are excellent not only do they offer similar to sizzler - bacon/sausage/scrambled egg/cereal/fruit they also cook to order your omlette and they have cakes etc available for breakfast too.

Dinner is terrific. They have a different theme every night - sunday is roast night, tues family and thurs bbq night - i think from memory But they have steak every night. And they are doing a new applewood smoke grill where they wrap apiece of steak in bacon and cook it that way. Where else can you get as much steak as you want to eat for $32 for 4 people.

I prefer it to sizzler. Much cleaner and more choice. Sizzler is fine for a change. We never do Ponderosa any more due to a bad experience a couple of yrs back.

There is one we have used quite a few times on international drive across the road from the big macdonalds, it is on the junction of sand lake and i drive but is hidden behind a checkers burger bar so tends no to be to busy at night, we regularly go around 8 and have never not gotten a seat,
Though the buffet isn't the cheapest, i think it was about $10-$11 plus your drink last time we were there, plus tip is nearly $70+ dollars for a family of 4 but boy is it worth it:)

I love Golden Corral, it's easily my favourite non-Disney eatery in Orlando! Whoever came up with the concept of an all-you-can-eat steak buffet deserves some sort of public service award!

I'm now looking forward to this part of the holiday more than anything else!!

Another great place to eat is Sweet Tomatos at corner of Universal Boulvard and International Drive - its an all you can salad buffet but you can also get great soups, pastas and pizza

I was wondering if anyone was going to mention Sweet Tomatoes. We like GC too but if we have to choose then Sweet Tomatoes is our number one "value" eaterie. Only DD is veggie and DS (17) loves his steaks and burgers but is perfectly delighted to eat at ST with its selection of soups, pizza, pasta, desserts as well as the huge salad bar and refillable sodas etc. In our opinion it has to be the best value around.

Each to their own. I went there last visit as My mother always wanted to visit after seeing it on a travel show. I totally hated it. Bloody awful! Nothing but a long line of salads and frankly poor pasta and plain pizzas.
With out a doubt the worst place we ate at all vacation. So bad I went to mcdonalds on the way home.

However, my mother loved it!

:rotfl2: Each to their own indeed!! Give me steak. Wipe it's bum, frighten it with a match and serve it up with Colemans English mustard:cloud9:

(Always take my own squeezy tube)
