On our last day in Orlando, we ate at the Golden Corral Buffet near the Holiday Inn Sunspree. It really surprised me how great the food was here, and the huge selection for only $6.99 a person. Has anyone else eaten here?

We recommend it to all of our guests and friends....great breakfast!!.....Ted

We also went to that one, it was across from the Vistana Resort. The food was fresh and eye-popping :earseek: good! There is also an arcade in there for the kids where my son spent his whole time!

Hillbeans.....I ate at the one by Little Lake Bryan (which I think is the same one that you are talking about) for dinner & it was $9.99. It was great..... I ate soooo much that I was still full the next morning LOL!!!

We have eaten at a Golden Corral here (LI) many times, and I would be happy to plan a dinner there to save some money on our WDW trip. Where exactly is it, is it near the Crossroads?

MrsMud.... if you are at the Crossroads..... go under the I-4 over-pass & it will be on your left. Make a left at the first light after the over pass & then the 1st left you can make after that. It is in the same complex as Bahama Breeze..... and just before the Marriot village complex.

Unfortunately, there aren't any Golden Corrals here in Western PA. So, when we travel, it is one of our standard stops. The food and value are much better than we expected.

We generally stop at the one at Little Lake Bryan. Seniors get free beverages with the buffet. Food is good.

We usually have lunch there on the day that we fly home. That way we are full of decent food, and so don't mind the usual cardboard sludge that the airlines serve up.

Oh, let me clarify. It was $6.99 for breakfast...but they had lunch items out as well on the other side of the room. The food was amazing, all the standard breakfast fare (with about 4 different kinds of sausages) as well as pastries, breakfast pizza, etc. I'm doing a low carb plan and it was wonderful having a huge variety of meats, etc to choose from.

Usually Buffets are rather sparse but this one was excellent and very clean. It was hard finding the entrance to the parking lot, however once we did we enjoyed ourselves. I wish we found it earlier in our trip but we'll go next time.

We love Golden Corral too! The one you've all been discussing in
Lake Buena Vista is a good one and is relatively new. We were
pleased with it. We've also eaten in the one on 192 and have been satisfied but I'd give a thumbs down to the GC on International Drive at Sand Lake Road. Service was terrible and the food was not up to normal Golden Corral standards. On top of everything else, EVERY GC we'ver ever gone to includes a beverage with the kids' buffet (not the adult one). This I-Drive
one did not and I argued with the manager that every other GC
does this and he was VERY nasty. They won't be seeing me again! When we are staying in the Universal Area we usually take a drive a little out of the way and eat at the one on Colonial which has absolutely the BEST dessert selection of any Golden Corral I've ever seen. I could hardly stand up when I finished all my dessert samples!

We enjoy this place too! We happened to stumble across it the day we flew in....we were staying at the Sunspree Holiday Inn, as a matter of fact. Great selection and tasty food. We actually moved to Ft. Wilderness cabins mid-way through our trip, but returned at least two more times there to eat. Can't beat the value when you're feeding a family of 6! And it was fairly close to Downtown Disney too, I thought.

My daughters enjoyed orange sherbet and tuna salad for breakfast ! Well, they're on holiday too.

As I said we love GC especially on flight days, however one GC at Semoran Blvd( rumour has it, ) has failed its health inspection, but I don't have the faintest idea where that is. I don't think it's near any of the ones mentioned.

The Golden Corral on Sand Lake Rd. opened a little later on the weekends than some other buffets. It opened at 7:30 am on Saturdays and around 8 am on Sundays. This may affect the plans of those who like to get to the parks first thing.

The Golden Buffet on Long Island is no longer. It is now called something like Buffet and Brew. Haven't been since it changed names so I have no idea what it is like.

The GB on 192 seems to have gone down hill, never looks too clean to me. Breakfast buffet is a good deal. They will make you eggs as requested. Don't have to take them from the buffet.

You were told the beverage wasn't included yet you argued with the manager. Sorry but it sounds like you were the one being nasty. Was there a sign that said kids drinks were free? Were other parties getting free drinks for the kids? If so you had a right to complain.

The GC is franchised, I guess this restaurant doesn't give kids free drinks. You certainly can leave, buy a drink for your kids or have them drink water. You really don't have a right to be rude and argue with the manager just because you don't like thier policy.

Ecdubfan, it may interest you to know that there's a GC in Erie now. We live in western PA, too (Armstrong County), and we found that GC a few weeks ago on our way back from Niagara Falls. We're big GC fans, too. The last time we traveled south, after returning home DH was looking through our restaurant receipts and he said it looked like we went on a tour of Golden Corrals!

Lewisc, apparently you've never heard the saying "The customer is always right." I sure hope you're not in any kind of service industry.

I don't deserve to be flamed for this. I was most definitely not nasty. The manager happened to be standing at the checkout area when we were paying and I mentioned to him that we were regular Golden Corral customers at various US locations and that we never had to pay for beverages with a kids meal at any other GC. I was just stating a fact, not in a nasty way I might add although he then took the opportunity to rip my head off. Then after we found a table, we realized that all the glasses were dirty and we could not flag down a server to get new ones. Ultimately after about 20 minutes we just went directly to the unmanned server stations and got our own beverages. (Golden Corral patrons know that your server usually brings your beverages to you.)

Lewisc, perhaps you work at this disappointing Golden Corral? I can't imagine any other reason why you would jump all over my response like that. I don't think YOU have the right to be rude to me when I was just being candid about my experience at that particular Golden Corral.

Didn't mean to flame you. I guess I didn't interpert your post the way you meant it... From your post it sounded like the manager got nasty after you complained about not getting free drinks. Cetainly no excuse for dirty glasses.

No I don't work at GC. The only GC I ever went to was in NY and the food wasn't that good. They since changed the name so I guess I wasn't the only one who wasn't impressed.

Although I said it in a different context but it sounds like you would have been better off if you left after you found out the drinks weren't included.

MY FEAR if they can't get you clean glasses what other corners are they cutting with cleanliness?
