Has anyone experienc with going up the Goldbelt tramway in Juneau. Can you tell us about it, fear of heights wise. We are wondering if you need to buy tickets ahead of our visit (reservations) and if anyone has eaten at the Timberline Restaurant? Thanks.

Is that the Mount Roberts tram? If so we did that and ate at the restaurant in 2014 and I remember it being good. It was closed for maintenance when we were there this year.

We did see that the tram cost went up from $25 each two days ago to $45 each today. Well, the season is very short and I'm sure the upkeep and maintenance must be high.

I’d say as long as you don’t look down, you should be good. Once on top, it’s like looking down from a mountain top. As for the food, it’s changed management a couple of times over the years, so I have no idea if it’s good. You can buy tickets the day you arrive and that may be a better option as some days the top can be in the clouds with no view.
