Gold Panning Sled Dogs and Scenic Railway Skagway excursion reviews?

We are scheduled for the August 15 Alaska sail. I am curious if anyone has done the gold panning, sled dogs and scenic railway Skagway excursion? It is from 9:15 to 4:45. My kids are 7 and 11.

Well we didn't do the gold panning and sled dog excursion but we did do the railway separately and it is fantastic. All of the children in our party (ages 10-16) loved it. The scenery is beautiful and we were lucky enough to see a bear.

We didn't do that specific excursion but we did the train and summer sled dog experiences and both were amazing. My kids are similar ages and they really enjoyed both. It's a long day but fun.
