Gold mobility with a rear basket on buses

I am going to rent from Gold again (Victory 10) but have a question about the rear basket option. I would really like the basket but last time even the Gold person couldn’t get it on and off to demonstrate without a lot of effort (she tried to explain how to do it but I wanted to see it done). When she finally got it off I told her to take it back that I don’t have the muscle strength to do it.

Do you know if the Victory 10 will fit on the buses with the rear basket on?

I think anything on the back of the ECV in the new style busses won't fit - in those new "back in" ECV slots.

I don't know if it would fit in the old style slot.

They MAY fit getting on the bus, but the last time (I was on the old style bus) the bus driver couldn't get me out. Finally, between him and another passenger, they got the rear basket off, so I had to drive all the way back to my room carrying the basket. Initially I had a Go-Go, and the rear basket was fine on that, but when you get up to the Victory 10, I found it difficult to even pull into elevators all the way with the rear basket on , the same elevators that had been fine with a rear basket and the GoGo.

I'm pretty sure the basket has to come off. If you don't think you can manage it, skip the basket. I wouldn't be putting anything on the scooter to try and loosen it. Remember you are just borrowing it, it isn't yours.

Thank you. Maybe I’ll bring wd40 and see if my dil can easily take it on and off.
I asked for a basket once and after driving the ECV to the room I immediately took it off because it made the scooter so much harder to get into the elevator and just felt like I was driving a bus vs a car for the length. So my level of dislike for a rear basket for me personally is at maximum - haha!

I can't imagine trying to park on the bus with it. I've actually never seen anyone attempt the bus with one on the back. Assuming you do, and then it gets filled up with stuff at the park, then you end up having to remove it to get back to the hotel you'd have the basket and the stuff that was in it that someone has to carry and manage on the bus.

We have sometimes used a locker at the parks, but I also tuck things down below the seat on the floorboard (something in a big Disney bag as long as it's not super lightweight) and it stays down there just fine. I'm not sure what your plans are for the basket (like if you need to carry a cooler or medical supplies daily, etc) but perhaps a locker could be an alternative. Or perhaps a big backpack hanging on the back of the seat that could be easily taken on and off?

Fortunately I think with Gold it is a free accessory so if you get it and don't use it then you're not out anything!

Yes, it is a free accessory with Gold. I remember thinking, when I stopped using it (when I "graduated" from the GoGo scooter) "Well, now I can choose another free accessory".

I rented from Gold, the Victory 10, in December. I had a cane holder on the back to hold my collapsible cane. Even with that small addition, some elevators were challenging. I can’t imagine using a rear basket.
