We will be in WDW in 2 weeks and I need a scooter to accommodate my bad knee (hopefully next trip it will be replaced and I wont have to rent anything)
The past couple of years we've used Gold Mobility and just loved them
But every time we get to the resort its too late to have them drop off the scooter so I have to wait until the next morning.
The problem is its REALLY hard to walk and if we get a far away room
(we're at ASMusic this time and a preferred room wasn't available for the discount) Im going to be a mess by the time I have to walk all that way.
I see that Scooterbug will deliver to the bell desk. We should be to the resort by 7PM.
Im wondering what everyones experiences are with them. Ive seen some good reviews but also some bad ones.
Also, would the resort have a wheelchair that can be borrowed just to get my gimpy self to the room?

If you asked earlier I would have suggested staying at Swan, Dolphin or any of the DS hotels (at least for the 1st night). Arriving earlier.

In your case I'd give Scooterbug a shot. They wouldn't be in business if the bad experiences reported ON DIS were typical.

You can try some of the other companies.

Doesn’t sound like you have a choice. You could always do a short rental with ScooterBug and then get your Gold Mobility one. The chairs are different so watch a video or something, my user prefers the Gold Mobility chairs.

As for does ScooterBug suck? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. My user had a couple fine rentals and then a really bad one and swore them off (he didn’t realize the physical differences of the chairs between the companies until he got the Gold one). You’ll have to take your chances and hope for the best, you can’t be ruining your knee on the first day.

We have been happy with Scooterbug, and so, if I were you, I would give them a try.

The resorts do have wheelchairs for getting around the resort.
Buena Vista scooters deliver around 6:30 to ASMusic. They might delay it to 7.

There should be a wheelchair at the resort that can be used if needed temporarily — however a CM will push it and does not leave the chair with the guest. So it may require waiting for a CM to be available.

I used Scooterbug at POR last year, and it was ok. Charging cord was missing when it was delivered, but I was able to talk to a person and work it out with the help of bell services. I would rent from them again to keep drop off and pick up simple.

I used Scooterbug for the first time earlier this year and was very happy with the scooter and the service!

I'm sure I wrote some of the bad reviews. I've rented from them twice (maybe 3 times? probably in 2023). My son is a CM so I go fairly often. One time they gave me an ECV that would randomly not work and roll backwards on inclines. Yes...so like at Runaway Railway on the incline after the merge was where I first noticed it. It rolled uncontrollably and I was just thankful I got it stopped. The bus driver had to help me with the bus going on the ramp. The ECV would just switch over into "free wheel" mode even though the switch was in the drive mode. I had to wait until the next day to get a new one. Another time I lost the key on a ride (yep my fault on that) but I could NOT get any assistance from them. I lost the key in the morning at AK and never got a call back or feedback or anything. I left the ECV at AK and had to rent a WDW ECV in the park we hopped to (Epcot) and borrow a WC to get back to the resort. Thank goodness my husband was with me or I'd have been really up a creek. Both ECVs were in terrible shape - ripped seats and squeaky/wiggly seats - plus the actually dangerous ECV they gave me the one time.

I'd love to rent from them for all the short trips I take when I think I'll need an ECV (had both knees replaced at this point). They were so awful both times. I'd rather Disney make any other vendor a preferred vendor - they should lose their contract. In your shoes I'd probably pull the trigger and rent from them. I've been in the same predicament and just had really bad luck with their products and customer service but hopefully you'll have a better experience.

Scotterbug replaced their scooters a few years ago.

They wouldn't still be in business if the PPs experience is typical.

But they are typical from what DH has seen, even after replacing their scooters because they replaced them with the cheapest ones they could find rather than a reputable brand. He has talked with many people who has rented from Scooterbug, even recently and there hasn't been a single one of the people he spoke with that hasn't had an issue. Again, this is out of the people he spoke with, but the number is high enough to say that it is a problem. And they do not respond in a timely manner when contacted about the issues.

@Evita_W you do realize that all your accusations against ScooterBug, especially with "...there hasn't been a single one..." is verging on libel? Not that I expect that business to waste time suing a single poster, but you aren't even sharing first-hand experience. It's always third-hand stories.

All -- let's try to keep this thread to actual experiences, please. I'm tired of "reviews" from years ago being trotted out time and again as if it was last week.

We tried Scooterbug at Disneyland a couple years ago. We normally use a wheelchair for our daytrips but since it was a staycation, we decided to get a scooter (I was fine pushing mom like normal - she was the one who wanted to do this). The scooter was ok. Pretty big overall - my mom prefers the go-go from Gold at WDW instead. Clean and looked pretty new but no real issues except my mom just did not like the size or turning radius. Oh and it was pretty slow.

Bell Services at Disneyland asked our thoughts on it and said they were keeping a log of what guests were saying and any issues to share with Scooterbug and as part of the evaluation of the vendor. Who knows if anything came from that?

It is not, he said there hasn't been a single one of the people he spoke with that didn't have issues, nothing is liebel there, unless you take it out of context; however, I just modified the post to make it clearer just to be safe, sorry for any confusion there and this is indeed actual experiences from actual people he has personally spoken with. Of course neither of us can vouch for anyone we haven't spoken with and yes, I am sure there are plenty of people who didn't have issues, he just said he didn't personally speak with a single person that didn't.

I don't know, but I would be interested to find out.

And everything is quoted from DH and what DH may have heard from who knows who. As was pointed out above the majority of posters here want 1st hand personal I was there experience and DH surely can contribute and can even name himself DH on these threads.

Pride Mobility Victory isn't a reputable model from.a reputable brand?

Golden Technologies isn't reputable? You've suggested some of their scooters in many posts.

Scooterbug wouldn't be in business if the alleged examples you mentioned were real and typical.

Customers who want bell services delivery and want to use Gold should stay in Swan....or any of the DS hotels.

My personal experience. Scooterbug was OK.

So - last time I was at WDW (May this year) - I was at Guest Svcs at MK Mainstreet - there was a woman who had a dead scooter panicking and trying to get GS to help her - she saw me on my personal ECV and asked if I could help - I asked if it she rented from Scooterbug…YUP - she just picked it up at the hotel - Told her she needed to contact them.
