Gold CC Member, no email about opening today

I am not Gold yet, so I am a little confused. If one of the big perks of Gold is to get advance booking, how are you supposed to know about it if DCL doesn't email you?

I mean, suppose you are Gold but don't use a TA and don't frequent social media?

I know what you mean. I have no desire to sit on the phone all day to find out the pricing of possible cruises I might be interested in 18 months from now. And at best a normal wait time has been upwards to 30 minutes.
I would think the geniuses at DCL would put the itineraries on the website with a block to not allow booking. That way the phone lines could be clear, folks could actually GET the benefit of being able to look at prices and then call to book early armed with information. What a waste of time for guests AND DCL CM's.
 

I am Platinum and have gotten nothing. Should I?

I am platinum (newly) but no...didn't get anything now or when I was gold. I found out about it first from a FB group I am a member of and THEN Disney Destinations sent me an email from a professional standpoint.
 
I know that we are all ultimately interchangeable and disposable to DCL, but I am surprised that this issue has not sent throngs of people to Karl Holz's doorstep bearing pitchforks and torches.

Pretty much the main perk of Gold/Platinum, and they can't be bothered to let you know when you can use it?
 
I didn't get one (platinum) but someone I know (gold) who hasn't traveled on Del in awhile did.
 
I am still Silver and just came off a cruise... and I got an email telling me to book starting October 27 at 8am EDT. I got this email yesterday I will note that it made reference to an on board booking that is currently a placeholder.

I assume those of you that did not get anything have checked your spam filter, just in case. I think Disney had changed the domain from which they email these things.

Platinum here and have never received an email from DCL regarding new itineraries prior to release. On occasion I get one from my TA with a heads up, but not always. I usually find out here.

I wasn't waiting for this time block to open so I wasn't really paying attention this time. But I may consider a 3 night out of San Diego, since it is so close and I want to do my part to encourage them to keep a ship on the West Coast. :)

I just checked mine and I have an email from a friend who died a few years ago. None from Nigeria though!
 
I wasn't planning on booking today, but since they market it as a perk, it's only proper they should email a head's up to actually use the perk if we wanted to. Heaven knows I get enough other email from Disney and their various venues of entertainment.
 
I'm a gold CC member and I didn't get an email about being able to call today for pricing. Had I not gotten on DISboards, I wouldn't have known. Did anyone else NOT get an email or am I the lone wolf who needs to pout?
I didn't get an email either... I just happened to be looking on dis boards too... I even called yesterday inquiring about up coming releases and the cast member was very rude to me saying it was just a rumor.

I think they only notify us if they have new really EXPENSIVE itineraries - like: Norway, British Isles, etc

I remember the first year (because they are "never doing these again") pricing for: Panama Canal, West Coast, Alaska, Northern Europe, Southern Caribbean being pretty outrageous. Some of those we were Gold / Platinum for others not.

I really think that Platinum / Gold get notified only when DCL is coming out with those "big bang" announcements, and we are notified along with everyone else, usually nothing special.
 
I never get one from DCL (and I'm platinum). Now when DH was silver, he would (?) but now that he's gold...crickets...DCL marketing, I just don't get you sometimes :)
 
I never get promotional email from DCL. I started a thread one time on DCL not having promotional email.
I never get any either. Last time I was on the phone with them (before this release) I asked about that and they told me to go into my account and tick the box to receive emails. Which I did - it was unticked before that. Unfortunately, I still didn't receive an email this time :(.
