Gold Booking opening day . . . wow, was that painful . . .

it is going to be limited, that is for sure. If they continue this additional tier booking system................it makes the jump to Platinum a little more "valuable". Not only can you get a harder to get cruise, but the prices haven't started to spike before everyone else starts their bookings

Well after this I'll be Platinum.... but bottom tier Platinum. ;)

That's if we don't go before Sept 22'....

We were so excited as this was our first booking opportunity as Gold... it wasn't overly helpful as we missed the maiden, but we got two great rooms on our 2nd choice date which just means we'll have more days at WDW instead...

Yeah - similarly I had been hoping to snag the lower cost Concierge that was showing available all weekend for 8/29 but it was gone by the time my TA got on moments after 7:30 (I was checking in at school at 7:30) so she got me a 5B that I had requested- and because it’s so much lower than the Concierge would have been I’m doing Poly for 3 days before rather than the CBR stay it would have been.

Luckily we live in Orlando so we don't have to package a cruise and WDW. We also don't have to figure air fare when we cruise so we consider ourselves very lucky in that sense as well.

Yes you are very lucky. We were in that situation until recently, it was so convenient and will miss doing that for our Wish cruise next year. Oh well, nothing lasts forever.

Online apparently opened before 8.
DCL has a documented history of opening booking windows early. We're at 13 cruises... so just regular ol' platinum. We had to wait until Thursday 5/20 to book the Wish. DW was online pinging the web site a full hour early. They opened it at 7:40 ET. We were booking a B2B in Sept and wanted to be sure we got the same room for both cruises so it was a crazy - two computer - simultaneous dance trying to book. But we ended up getting what we wanted.

Online or phone? Thanks
Online, I logged to my Disney account on DCL at 7 am in case it opened up early I refreshed the screen every 5 minutes so I wouldn’t get logged out. Just so happened I refreshed at 7:30 and the coming soon was gone and I could select my cruise. I had already selected the June Bahamas cruises and put our number of passengers in with the kids ages.

The concierge category (little Mermaid themed, no balcony, floor to ceiling glass windows) seemed to go very quickly .....

Yeah, I suspect they will likely price them higher to begin with next release. Since they've never had Concierge OV before they really didn't know what they could charge. Now that they know people will snap them up, I'm expecting a sharp rise in price next itinerary release.

I hope not.. I want to sail in one someday but opted for the maiden and took what I could get...! I know you're right though. I'm still somewhat shocked concierge is going so fast despite them adding on so many rooms.

Yeah, in spite of Little Mermaid being my least favorite of the Princess movies, I was really hoping to snag one for 8/29. Sadly I was signing into school at 7:30 and while my TA got on almost immediately it was already gone. I'll take a forward hump veranda (one of the ones that looks like it has a larger balcony from the deck plans) for a little over half the price - and stay at the Poly (rather than CBR) for the 3 days before. :)

I had been watching the Veranda vs. Concierge prices for days. I was amazed at how low the premium was. I’m used to seeing Concierge Family rooms at ~2x the Cat 4. It was too good to pass up.

I am surprised they weren’t priced high. They’ll almost surely reprice them for future sailings.

Sounds like a great compromise to me..!

They'll have to wait and see what happens when sailing interest regulates itself. This schedule block (and most of the inaugural season) will be artificially popular and especially so by frequent (Platinum) cruisers because it's new. I think popularity may wane over time as people experience the ship. There are only 7 of those Little Mermaid rooms and they're on the lower end of the concierge pricing so that probably contributes.

It's the suites at the back of the ship as part of concierge I'm curious about. You can't get any further from the concierge amenities back there.

I have been wondering the same thing. They are single story instead of the 2 story and they are far away from the lounge. It seems like 2 strikes against them.

That's the 125% FCCs at work after so many cancellations and a looming Sep 30, 2022, expiry date.
Agree. How many people are choosing to do Concierge because they have all that extra credit when they normally would never pay the premium? Based on the cruise groups for my cancelled sailings, I would bet that a lot of people are choosing just that.

I think the opportunity to grab a cabana is also a factor with the cruise credit.

Excellent point, and makes the B2B concierge sailings make even more sense. Many people had multiple cruises cancelled...
