Yes. If you purchase ahead of time by calling MS, they will check your status. At a ticket booth or guest services at the park, you have to show both a picture ID and your blue membership card. Owners who purchased resale before the change in policy are grandfathered in.

Thanks. This definitely makes me feel better about buying an 80 point direct contract right now. With the price of small(ish) resale vs direct and the ability to buy gold (x4 people) right now that’s huge for us when comparing price. Not to mention being able to purchase direct on a cc that offers rewards.

Keep in mind that any perk is not guaranteed. What is available now does not have to be offered in the future. Our guide was adamant that we understood that. There could come a time that there are no extra benefits offered for buying direct. Unlikely, but totally possible.

Oh yeah I know. Right now, as in this year we have to buy 4 AP’s so it knocks a little off the small price difference. Anything offered/available after this I will definitely just consider it an added bonus and not something I expect to receive. Aside from the AP discount I put a value on my CC skymiles and it’s really a no brainer for us. Yes direct will cost us a little more but not enough of a difference to go through all the rigama roll of resale. If we were to buy another larger contract in the future we would 100% go resale.

We bought direct, too, and it is nice to have whatever perks get offered. I agree though, another purchase for us would be resale for sure but we love having bought direct.
