Going tomorrow, July 30th

to celebrate my birthday (my 13th time turning 30 ).

I am meeting my aunt and uncle. I was wondering how crowds have been.

My plan is to leave San Diego around 7:30. Hoping to make it up there by 9:30.

Then I will leave no earlier than 6 p.m., no later than 7:30 p.m..

My big hope is avoiding major traffic.

Was also wondering how crowded DL has been lately. I was hoping to hit DL early, then do lunch in DTD, then hit CA in the p.m. Thought this would be best crowd management.

Thanks so much for the pixie dust.

My b/d has been so wonderful already. My DH took me to see Hairspray complete with soda and popcorn. (BTW, this movie is AWESOME!!!).

Then dinner at Hotel Del Coronado's 1500 Ocean restaurant, to die for.

Plus, a card and a bouquet of flowers.

And, a new video IPOD.

And I still have Disneyland tomorrow. Wow!!!!

I was just there on Thursday and it was ok. I only was there for approx. two hours and did three rides and spent a good deal of time in the gallery. Thunder Mountain had about a 30 minute line when I left at about 3pm, The Mansion about 10 minute and Jungle Boat 10 minutes.

It was busy like a normal summer weekday but not so crazy you can't do and see plenty of things.

I made the mistake of trying to head to San Diego at about 4pm and it took FOREVER to get there! It took about 2 1/2 hours to get to downtown.

Well I'm back. Had a great time.

Left San Diego at 7:35. Arrived 9:35. Traffic was bad on 805 in San Diego and again on 5 North around Carlsbad. The rest of the way was clear sailing.

Got good parking spot, 3c Daisy Level. Took 2nd tram in.

Walked onto Jungle Cruise, then 10 min wait for Big Thunder. Walked onto Mark Twain (boy, lots of things are broken - where was the bear? Is he gone or did I just miss him - and where is dog next to little Indian boy fishing?).

I then did Splash Mtn. single rider; then Winnie the Pooh (5 minutes). Then did 5 minute wait for Haunted Mansion. Picked up Buzz fast pass.

Next it was Small World and lunch in ToonTown (hot dog and apple slices, diet coke). I then visited the Disney Gallery for final time (sob). Then I rode Tiki Room and used Buzz fast pass. Picked up Happy Birthday button at City Hall.

Left park at around 1:45. Got out of parking structure at 2. Made it home by 4 - and that was with a stop at Carlsbad Costco for gas.

All in all, had a great time.

I am thinking of heading there on Wed - Fri with my daughter.... IF I can find an inexpensive hotel.....

It was crowded, but not unbearable.

Of course, I got out of dodge around 2 p.m.

And, I went solo - and have been a million times previously. I think my experience would be very different than someone who hasn't been as many times or is going with other people, especially children.

I was there fairly early, when crowds were low, and able to jump on some rides. I also took advantage of fastpass and single rider. At lunch time, I happened to be in Toontown and noticed the hotdog line was short - so I just hopped in line and bought some food - I don't think that would happen if you weren't going solo.

The Pirates line was very long, and Fantasyland was packed.
