We are staying at the Hotel New York Empire State Club and will probably eat all our meals exept breafast at the Disney Village.

I've booked a table at Cafe Mickey's tomorrow. Can anyone recommend places to have lunch and dinner the other days? Where do I need to book in advance?

We are travelling with small children (age 2 and 4) so our dinner will not be so late. I was planning to go to the Buffalo Bill show one night, but having seen some videos on Youtube, I think it's not suitable for my kids (yet).

And a final question, how much do you tip? 5%?

Another place in the Village I would recomend is Annettes - you cant book there however.

Will you report back on Empire State Club as I think you are the first on here to stay there and Id be interested to know what its like

As it looks as if you'll be there on Sunday, I'd recommend the sunday brunch at the steak house in the village for lunch that day :thumbsup2

yay im going tomorrow as well we've booked for steak house sunday brunch cus so many ppl recomended it

Definatly Annettes, oh and Cafe Mickey seems like a must do (although I haven't done it yet)

Rainforest Cafe is a good place to eat and your little ones will enjoy the theming.

To second what others have said, Rainforest Cafe, Annette's, Cafe Mickey. They're all good really, it does depend on personal taste and what sort of thing the children would like. If you preferred to have lunch in the parks on one or two days the Fuente del Oro (frontierland) is a favourite of ours, or the famous croque monsieur from Victorias in main street, or casey jones for hotdogs.

Tip - convention is 10% but do check your bill as often it is added as a service charge. If you feel you have had poor service you can decline to pay it, or (as we do) decline to pay it and then tip the server in cash otherwise your tip money disappears into the corporate coffers.

Second that, we always ask for the service charge to be removed, often becuase we think it isn't enough and we'd rather the money goes directly to the server

Looks like there will be quite a few of us there Sunday as we are looking forward to brunch too!

If you find you run out of choices in the village ... it's a short walk to DLH (you'll go right by on your way out of the park or it's short from your hotel) they have a fab buffet ... and the kiddos eat free!

I would vote for the Rainforest Cafe and Annettes Diner.... Really good fun and lovely food at both.

As for tipping, we generally just leave a couple of Euros on the table.

McDonalds :rotfl: haha joke!
Annette's Diner is really good :D i love the food there!
and the rainforest cafe is one not to be missed, and ludwigs castle has really great fillets too oh and the steakhouse

im so jealous wish im going too :(:(

Cafe Mickey and Annette's for us too!!! We always have lunch at CM on our last day, it makes our trips more memorable:goodvibes

I also enjoyed Auberge de Cendrillon. It's a little pricey and a set menu but you get to see most of the princesses, spend time with them without queuing by the castle.

I think that King Ludwigs has the wurst starters! :rotfl2: It's actually my recommendation. Ate their last November after ignoring it on my first 4 trips. It was beautiful. Good beer too in giant steins.

def the steakhouse brunch it was fab :)

not in the village ........... but your children might like the plaza gardens tea party

nice choice of food and quite a few characters :) bit mad in there but liked the atmosphere! :goodvibes
