Going to Yosemite This Weekend!

I'm Happy!

Even though it shows that it will be raining the entire weekend.

We're going to stay in Housekeeping, so I'm already thinking of ways to keep wet shoes out of our sleeping area, or at least part of it. I told my daughter that it will be raining, so we won't hike the Panoramic Trail, and she said, 'cool, it'll be an adventure.' lol

Take some newspaper to stuff into your shoes it absorbs water and dries them. Have fun.

How was the trip?

It was quick! Temps were running 46º at night and 52º during the day with steady rain throughout. We packed it in late Saturday afternoon instead of spending another night. However, we really enjoyed our trip, and are planning a turnaround trip in June hopefully. We counted 9 waterfalls in the valley, and the meadows were very marshy. It was beautiful. We saw ravens, deer, robins, stellar jays, and a coyote catch a robin. He was in a campground - came in, nabbed the robin, and took off again. We had a light quilt and blanket over our sleeping bags and were pretty warm all night.

These guys were thrilled when a deer came from behind them and grazed right by them. They didn't move until the deer moved on.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your trip despite the rain. You mentioned temperatures so I thought I would ask what we can expect the first week in July. We'll be staying in one of the tents in Curry Village. Just wondering how cool it will get at night. Do you think we'll be okay with just the linens/blankets they provide?
