Going to Williamsburg for Easter--Need Advice

Thank you so much Princess and Wishing!

Now I'm really excited to go to BG!! I think our boys will love it!

I'm heading to the blog right now.

I highly recommend eatting dinner in one of the taverns. DH and I went alone the day after Christmas (my mom was sweet enough to watch our kiddos). We took a historical night time walk and then had dinner at the King's Arms Tavern. We've only done CW though not Jamestown though. Busch Gardens has changed some things. I would recommend getting a deal online with the bounce option (hotel and tickets) and adding on vouchers for meals and parking.

I can say that we've only gone in the summer and winter though.

It has been several years, since we couldn't get ressies on this last trip, but I can recommend Christiana Campbell's.

The hot sweet potato rolls with butter, right out of the oven, were to die for.
We asked for a second basket.
I had the stuffed shrimp appetizer as my entree. And it was really good.

They have set seating times.. your dining room/area will be seated, and after you order, a strolling costumed, colonial entertainer will come thru... this many years later I can remember the tall guy in colonial garb who came thru and sang "Nautical Ale" (as in being naughty! ;))

Anyhow, for a time like Easter weekend.... You really should call several days in advance if you want ressies for some of the best restaurants and/or night programs. ;)

A website someone had mentioned last year regarding Jamestown and Yorktown is historyisfun.org.

We have passes for Busch Gardens. It's a beautiful park and we enjoy the shows. Two of my kids enjoy the coasters. So, there is something for everyone there.

We have driven through the colonial areas, but have yet to visit any museums or buildings. I think now my kids are at the perfect age to fully appreciate Williamsburg, so hopefully we will visit there this spring break as well!

Great! Hope that it was helpful. Let us know if you have any other questions - I'm sure that you will have a WONDERFUL trip.

I live in South Central PA and have an annual pass to Williamsburg. We go 2 x year as there is so much to do. The worse part is the drive there and going around DC. We were just there 3 weeks ago and I also received an email with discount code for the Williamsburg Woodlands which is the hotel right next to the vistor center. If interest, just pm me with your email and I will send it to you.

We are also looking at doing Williamsburg area this Easter. Looking at the different ticket options are a little confusing. If we only have 1 day to do the Jamestown/Yorktown, should we buy the pass that only allows the Jamestown settlement and Yorktown victory center or should we add the Yorktown battlefield and historic Jamestown? It looks like it only differs in price in the adults. And does everything close around 5:00? How would you reccomend we split our time between these areas? Thanks!
