My husband and I are planning to go to DW the week of Feb. 2. This is also the weekend of the SB being played in Miami. I am worried about the crowd level during this time. Will this effect the crowd level at the park? What about the parade at the MK that highlights the SB champs? Will that effect the park that day? Please help! Should my husband and I be worried? Should we pick another week to go? I would love any help and advice on this matter. Thanks!!

A lot of people, I would think, would stay at their resort or go someplace else to watch the Superbowl. We were there last year during the Superbowl, and the crowd level was normal for that time. The Boardwalk (ESPN Club) was packed, but the parks were fine.

We were there the last few years leading into SB weekend. Always leave the day before so not sure about the parade issue.

Last year no biggie.

Year before, SB in Jacksonville, definately an influx in crowd level.

Lots of people in Pats jerseys. More in Eagles jerseys. Including us :cheer2: . It was actually kinda funny how the Eagles fans would pass each other with a "Go Birds" or "Iggles" but you never heard anything from the NE fans.

ARE YOU READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL?

We were there last year and didn't see any real difference. Lots of people dressed up in their team colors on the day of SB. The parade was at MK and we just avoided that park on that day.

Enjoy your trip!!!

We always go during SB time and the crowd level is fine. We still never waited more than 10 minutes anywhere. We have always managed to miss the parade though! My husband watches the game in our resort room and I usually do laundry. However this year I may go to DTD and shop for awhile. I would love to go to Magic Kingdom during the game because we have been told that it is empty but my dh has to watch the game. Oh well it will be a good time for me to shop. HA!

Just to clarify, I think there is a difference in crowd between "regular" SB weekend & when the SB is being held somewhere in FL.

I’m guessing AFTER the game, the speaking roles were reversed.

I am sorry if i was unclear with my question. We were worried about the crowd level becasue of the fact that the Super Bowl is being played in Florida and not somewhere else. Do you think that people will shell out money to go to the SB and to WDW in the same trip? I guess the bottom line is, since people will already be coming to Miami to you think that they will be willing to drive to Orlando to go to WDW? Thanks again for all yout help and input!!

You could always just root for a Dolphins-Buccaneers Super Bowl.

I was in WDW the year the SB was in Jacksonville and there were more people at WDW than for other SBs, but parks were still well below "crowded" levels. I guess a good comparison might be MLK weekend - busier for value season but not crazy!!!

HTH!!! :teeth:
