My husband and I received an unexpected yet delightful surprise a few weeks ago - I am apparantly pregnant. We're taking my mom to WDW three weeks from today for a mother's day celebration (ironically appropriate)... I will be 10 weeks pg at our time of departure. During our stay at WDW, my DH and I want to spend a day at BB.

So, I am wondering... are there any ride restrictions for pg women at the water parks... I mean beyond the obvious ones like Summit Plummet, Slush Gusher, etc. (I don't go on those anyway)? Will I be able to go on the gentler ones... like Runoff Rapids, Snow Stormers, etc? We're trying to decide if BB will be worth the money... want to make sure I can do something more than float around the river, etc - I can do the equivalent at the resort for "free".

Any advice is appreciated!

This is a highly subjective topic for any occassion. The first 3 months of preganancy can be a very delicate time. Are you high risk? Anyone in your family's history high risk? Some women are able to partake in vigorous activities while pregnant, others not. I don't think that this is something that strangers could easily advice on. Perhaps you should discuss it with your doctor.

This being said, the "wading" type activities are most likely going to be fine. But as far as anything else, you should be very careful.

Hi
I went to BB when I was 12 weeks pregnant in May 2004. I was hoping to ride the easy slides but ended up just relaxing in the lazy river which is HUGE and also in the wave pool. I was going to ride the huge raft that the entire family can go in but the wait was so long I just couldn't handle it. I had fun watching my niece do everything she wanted and having the time of her life. Have Fun and we maybe at BB the same time :) We are going May 12 - May 19. Our son is 18 months old now and I'm so excited to see his expressions with everything Disney :earsboy: :cheer2:

The main wave pool and the lazy river would be good for sure. There are slides that are smooth rides, though there is always that semi-quick stop when you hit the end..... It would surprise me if many of the slides that aren't the huge ones you mention wouldn't be ok, but I'm not a doctor or a physicist. :)

What I'd do is talk to my OB/GYN. Explain the rides and talk about any possible risks - make sure your doc listens to you and responds to any concerns instead of just brushing you off. Figure out what you and your doc can be comfortable with. If the doc has reservations about the rides... well, BB will still be there next time.
