Well...we just booked our son's first trip(s) to the World! He was born on Saturday, May 31st :yay: :yay: and we just booked a trip in December (when he will be just under 7 months old) and another for April (10 1/2 months old.)

We really debated and always said we wouldn't take him until he was at least 2 or 3 years old, but I guess we can see how that turned out!!!:rotfl2:

We are the usual Commando people when we go to Disney. We try to do everything we can and stay in the parks as long as we can. First off, I realize that this cannot be our strategy now and we sorta did that the last time we went. My wife was about 20 weeks pregnant and we really had to take it easy compared to our normal pace.

I am just looking for any tips, advice, and even criticism from everyone. I realize that anything without a height requirement, he is able to go on, but just wanted to hear from people that have traveled with an infant of a similar age.

Thanks in advance!!!

Scott

Congrats on your new baby!!
My moto when my kids were babies was, "have kids, will travel!" We took them all over and even drove to Disney when they were infants. I took each of my kids at the 8/9 month age and those were by far our easiest trips with them. Yes you have to tote around more stuff, but the kids are so mobile at that age. I used an infant carrier(Baby Bjorn) and was able to keep them in it on most rides and attractions. I always brought their own stroller so they were more comfy and we could have it for around the resort and DtD. When they were babies we would stay out as late as we wanted at the parks because they would just fall asleep in their stroller. It was so easy to shop in the stores before they could talk and ask for everything!LOL;) Also, the characters love babies and we have so many great pics of our babies with them. Great memories for sure!
Have a great time!

Thank you very much! That is very encouraging to hear!

We are looking forward to it!

Thanks again!

Scott :)

We've taken DS at 3 mos, 12 mos, and 15 mos. It's been pretty easy all 3 times. The pace slowed down, A LOT, (even more than when I was pg) but it's totally doable. He went on most rides with us (and even fel asleep on pirates...twice LOL and loves the HM) and was pretty easy to move around. I also suggest taking your own stroller, it's familiar.
We would end up only staying in the parks for 5 hours or so (it's because we are not go early people) since we always had some dinner ressie to get to.
Kind of let the kid dictate how the day goes. Some days you may be able to get more done than others.
And my biggest suggestions is take LOTS and LOTS of pictures. :)
Have a great time!

We started taking our girls' when my oldest was 8 months..and have gone 2x a year since :)
We have always had a great time..and the characters LOVE babies!!!
I would recommend a carrier..it is so helpful while standing in line or when you don't feel like bringing a stroller somewhere i can give some links to a few great carriers IMO...first check out http://thebabywearer.com/ , http://www.babyhawk.com/ http://sleepingbaby.net/

These all have GREAT resale values or you could always check out the FSOT forum (for sale or trade) on thebabywearer...

I second the suggestion of a carrier... bring the stroller as well of course, but the carrier is great for lines etc.

I say go for it and LOVE it... take a ton of pictures, and dont sweat it! I found our twins to be really easy to travel with at that age... they would fall asleep almost anywhere (especially the carrier), so we didnt even need to go back to the room for naps.... they fell asleep on the go, and woke up an hour or so later!

ENJOY!

Our two year old is getting ready for his 3rd trip!

We took him the 1st time when he was 4 months old and my DH likes to joke that he was the best one:rotfl:( We have 2 older children 12 and 8)

We have always taken our kids no matter what the age and they have always had a great time!

I have a dear friend who will not take an infant and I totally understand. I think it has a lot to do with what each individual family wants. The fact that you WANT to take him shows that ya'll are going to have a great time!

I will be able to tell you more in August I will be taking my almost 8 month old at the end of July but from what I read it will be pretty easy. We will have a 6.5 year old and the baby and I am looking forward to it since he already knows Mickey Mouse.

Just take it slow. We are bringing our jogging stroller since he is most comfortable in that and it reclines all the way. I would get him used to whatever stroller you use at home. We do loads of walking here in the city so that is a plus.

December is my favorite time of year at Disney
