Over the years there are things I have added to our packing list. However, this is our first trip to WDW with our daughter who will be 22 months old and I was wondering what you pack for your toddler or wished you had packed? I don't want to be stuck without anything. Thanks!

Ok here are the must haves:

Plane ticket for your daughter.

right start has a car seat duffle bag which makes hauling the seat around the airport a breeze (dont check the seat!)

Right start also has presterilized mats that stick to tables to eat off of, so worry no more about your tot eating off the table itself.

a reclining stroller with big basket and cup holders. get neon tape and wrap you handle so you can spot it easily.

A rain cover for the stroller, use it whenever you leave the stroller unattended, rain happens at any time without warning. Should your stroller get soaked, diapers do wonders for drying it fast.

the sport baby backpack is a WDW must have! it has a huge attached changing pad so you can change a bigger tot anywhere without putting the baby on to exposed area and you cant loose it. there are insulated pockets for juice and milk and a seperate waterproof pocket for accidents.

Thanks Stacy6552! The table mats are a great idea! We did buy a ticket for our daughter so she will be in her car seat on the plane. We figured it would be safer and more comforatable for the 3 of us. Did you get the sport baby backpack from Right Start?

Cinmell,

the right start used to carry it, but now they dont. I got mine from Sportbaby.com. I have the "diaper backpack B600P" which is the first one listed under products.

I have also seen it at babies r us, but not regularly. you want the "daytrip I" if you get it there, which you can also see at the sportbaby website.

I reccommend the B600P since the pad folds up easier.

Personally I like the "B600P" over the other because the pad folds up easier.

Bath tub toys. Sounds stupid but boy did I miss them when my 3 dds were younger. Even a plastic cup to rinse their hair would have been great!

I also take along a small container of dish soap to wash the sippy cups, snack container, etc.

sippy cups! yes they are important too and now you can find cheapie throw away kind that you can have and wash in the dishwasher and keep but if you loos them its cool too. i think a pack of 5 is something like $2.50

If your child will sleep in a WDW resort crib, you may want to bring your own crib sheet that will fit the type of crib you will have. I have read that many of the resorts use a regular size sheet folded to fit on the cribs. Not a safe option. Also don't forget your child proofing things. Outlet covers, tolet lid locks etc for any situation your daughter tends to be at risk for. Also bring any baby meds you might need. Don't want to hunt for a pharmacy at 2:00 in the AM. I also , when my DS was little took a few active toys on trips so that he could let off some energy in the room.It is harder when you fly, but perhaps a push toy or even invest in a cheep ride on toy once you arrive. Don't over pack cloths, you can always do a load, wash something out in the sink or my favorite, pick up a couple new outfits!!!
Have a blast with your baby!!!

Thanks everyone for your tips. By the way, I haven't seen disposable sippy cups anywhere. Where did you find them?

I've been with toddlers 3 times now...

activities for the plane ride:
Movies if you have a DVD on your computer or even tape a movie onto a video casette and play on the video player...this occupied our DD for a LONG time! Till nap time!

Sticker books
Magic Markers, crayons, coloring books etc...

Candy for her ears and her sippy cup too.

Zip lock bags for snacks at the parks
I also packed some baby food; spaghetti O's; travel size cereal for snacks at the parks and crackers.

sippy cup; swim diapers; and regular diapers, rash cream, and baby wipes.

Infant Tylenol

maybe her bowel and spoon from home

A favorite toy to sleep with?

Depending on when you are going, a blanket

Some people pack their own baby sheets for the crib!

I pack a straw for when we sharing a drink.

Baby sunscreen

Change of clothes always in the diaper bag!

That's it off the top of my head...

Good luck!

I bought these at our local grocery store and at Target. I think they were 2.99 at Target for 6. They work pretty well for my girls-15 months and 3 years. They are a little hard to sip out of though. I think I saw an earlier post about them and someone had poked a small hole in the top to make it easier to sip. I haven't tried this yet.

Here's one more question for you (may seem silly). But for those of you who have travelled with kids, have you ever packed things like juiceboxes and checked them in rather than carry on? Some people say you can check things like juiceboxes, cans of pepsi, shaving cream cans, etc. and others say they'll explode and you're better off carrying them on b/c the cabin is pressurized. Are these thinks okay to pack and check with luggage or not? I went to Delta's website but it wasn't very helpful.

I found the disposable sippy cups at Babies R Us originally and just now started seeing them at Target. Orange juice really clogs the tops, though. And the disposable adhesive place mats are a must have for every parent of toddlers (mine are 14 mos and 2 1/2) on vacation and out to dinner at home. (I wish I had invented those things) We are going to WDW for the first time and all this information is terrific! Thanks!

Cinmell-On our last disney trip w/ 3 small children. I filled one of our suitcases w/ juice boxes, bottled water, bottled pop, cereal, snacks, chips, ect... and checked the suitcase in at the airport. We never had anything burst. I plan on doing this again as it saved on breakfast and munchies. I never checked w/ the airline but it didnt seem to be a problem.
