I'm going to see the Lion King at the Kimmel Center in Philly tomorrow night!
I got the tickets for Christmas and have been counting down the days. I can't wait!!!
Sorry I just had to share.
UPDATE:
The costumes we incredible and so was the music but we had terrible seats.
I sat in the second row in the last seat on the right. I couldn't see 1/2 of the stage and unless the actors were right up at the front of the stage I could only see them from their knees up. Any time the actors sat or laid down I couldn't see them. I didn't get a real feel for the play because I could only see one actor or actress at a time. There were several scenes that take place towards the back or side of the stage that I couldn't see anything during. (The first scene with Scar and Simba talking comes to mind, I could hear them but I couldn't see anything.)When Rafiki opens the show I couldn't see her at all. But her voice was....just WOW, it blew me away.
All that being said it was quiet interesting to be so close and get to see the actors faces and I could see how they we animating the animals. So from that perspective it was great. I hope to go back and sit somewhere else so I can see everything, I feel like I missed so much.
