Going to see Beautiful, the Carole King Musical

In Orlando, for a matinee next week. Are shorts acceptable to wear, or should we bring pants? It's so hot in Orlando, and we fly, so space is limited in suitcases, but if we "should" wear pants, we'll bring some.

Shorts are fine just about anywhere in Florida, at any time of the day or night. We saw people in shorts and tank tops having a Valentine's dinner at Seasons 52 in Coral Gables this February. The exception would be a restaurant or event which has a dress code.

OTOH, because it's hot in Orlando, keep in mind that it might be quite chilly in a theater. We usually wear long pants whenever we are going to be indoors for a longish period -- or whenever temps plunge into the 70's!

If they're dressy shorts and dressed up nicely I think it may be okay. I'd personally go with pants (maybe lightweight khakis/linen, if the heat is that bothersome). People used to dress up to the nines to go to the theater and I find it a little sad that this isn't the case anymore.

Thank you! I happened to talk to a friend who lives in Tarpon Springs FL just a little while ago, and she said the same thing about being cold when she's inside a theater!

Light weight pans sound great. I would wear a sundress - I always wear these in Florida, and maybe a shrug.
